If they really did have a heart and care about their dog they wouldnt be constantly subecting them to danger like this

Sorry it just upsets me when people dont take care of their pets and the poor pet suffers for it Sad I have seen so many poor dogs die because they were left out on their own by horrible owners usually they get hit on the road but ive also seen stray dogs kill other dogs as well and I wasnt able to stop it and it ended in tragedy

My neighbor has shot dogs that come on his land and mess with his birds (ducks and chickens) I love dogs just hate to see them killed like this

Like I told you before......back the hell off. I am protective of my dog. I love my dog and you know absolutely nothing about me. Nor do you know how I take care of my dog. My dog is a house dog but I will be dammed if I am gonna let any coyote make it so he can't even go outdoors. If you don't like that...... stick it!

Tico - who gets thousands of children a year? Are you saying that coyotes kill more kids than house dogs do? If so, you're mistaken, very mistaken.

Apparently "predatory humans & domestic dogs".

I agree though if the dog is 100 pounds this whole fuss is for nothing because no coyote is going to take the dog on by itself

What could happen is the coyote would lure the dog out into the woods and gang up on it with its pack

But since your dog is a "house dog" and contained in a fence you dont have to worry about that ever happening now do you?

Ummmmm how about nobody? Cuz if you read what I just said.....I told you if you don't like it that I would shoot the coyote before I would allow one to make it so my dog can't go outdoors.......then stick it. ( In orther words I'm talking about shooting the coyote ....not saying you or anyone said my dog can't go outside. Geesh)
Rolling Eyes

Enuff said. I'm done with your silliness

Domestic dogs get way more kids a year then coyotes do Rolling Eyes The domestic dog attack number is up to what? a hundred thousand in total now? While the coyote has a total attacks of like 20 in the last 100 years

I understand. I'm for banning pit bulls because of the frequency and ferocity of their attacks on humans. What do you think about that?

It doesnt take a scientist to understand that coyotes and domestic dogs are not the same species Rolling Eyes Neither is it that hard to understand that coyotes are way more reluctant to attack a person than a domestic dog

I dont expect you to understand this concept though

So, if I understand your argument correctly, you are more sympathetic to coyotes than dogs? Is that about right? You are of the opinion that domestic dogs are a greater threat than coyotes? Please confirm.

Also how are coyotes getting peoples dogs and cats? Foolish Flakey irresponsible owners thats how!

Yes, foolish and irresponsible owners that DARE to allow their dogs outside of their homes.

Ive been out hundreds of times with my dog and never once did a coyote try and touch it while im around, Im not even a very big person either. I am sure if i FOOLISHLY left my dog out alone in the woods at night they would get him though but im not that stupid or carless

Hold on ... are you telling me you have a dog?

Do you realize how many thousands of children are killed each year by domestic dogs? I cannot believe you would own one of those dangerous animals.

Watch your puppy, Brooke. Coyotes are quite clever, he could lure
your pup into the fields. I think, the ones that come out during the daytime
are either young ones or desperate ones.

We have lots of coyotes in the canyons here, and I have never seen
one during the daytime. They usually come out at dusk and roam around
during the night. Nonetheless, we watch our dog very closely, and he
never goes out alone...

I've seen them during the day here, but it's pretty rare. It's indeed a sign of their desperation -- they are hungry. They are extremely clever, and will work in packs to lure their prey.

Coyotes aren't limited to nighttime activity, they work around the clock. They just make more noise at night.

I've been seeing them in the daylight hours quite often lately. Read an article just the other day in Predator Xtreme about the population boom and the thoughts and what they believe is behind it.

And I'm going to disagree somewhat with one statement about the coyotes "luring" dogs....

It my opinion , and I restate opinion, thats its not so much as a lure tactic, but its an instinct in most dogs to hunt prey, coyote being such as that.

We are getting close to spring now. I was wondering today if mating season might be close for them? And if so...would that make them just a tad more apt to roam during the day. More restless?
