I'm wondering when Ivy is going to go home. As annoying and manipulative as Gretchen is, she at least has two victories to show for it. Ivy talks the same talk as Gretchen but doesn't have any wins to back it up.

@Shapeless,
I suspect they encourage that kind of talk in those interview segments. Ivy seems more than willing to comply. She doesn't appear to be that bitchy in the workroom.

After thinking about that last show, I think the judges were really egging the losing team on to act exactly the way they acted. Then they appeared all offended when they actually did. Who knows how anybody who is sleep deprived and under pressure would have acted. Gretchen, however, refused to take the medicine when Tim handed it out. She is manipulative. The rest of them seemed to take his lecture to heart.

I hope they all get back on track and forget about all of this manufactured human drama.

Tim and the judges never seem to be on the same page. Contestants get worried when Tim criticizes their work, but then the judges seem to love the piece- and visa versa.

What's with all the showing of zippers? Why would anyone want a gold zipper going up their ass crack?

@Shapeless,
Thank you! and I could not agree more! The judges hated Ivy's blah, colorless, Blanche Devereux outfit, yet they sent A.J. home. She made the 'pants from pants' and that ill-fitting gray dress in the party-store challenge and I can't even remember what she did in the crazy-hats challenge. Then she got mad and cried when they called her 'baby' ugly lol. I felt horrible for Michael C. and the treatment he got from his 'teammates', so I hope he at least gets the satisfaction of seeing her eliminated ahead of him.

@Irishk,
Yeah, I was happy for Michael C. when the judges stuck up for him as he was being sacrificed like a lamb by his teammates. On the other hand, he should have known what he was getting into when he chose Gretchen as his teammate! I think he was trying to ride on her coattails, which wound up backfiring badly.

I liked Michael C's dress. But I liked the pink and black one better. I think they gave it to Michael as a "so there" to the soreheads from last week. And what a bunch of charmers they are. First they throw the guy under the bus. Then they neither speak nor smile when he wins.

If somebody doesn't get Gretchen out of there soon, I'm going to have to schlep downtown and shoot her. Justifiable homicide.

I thought that the loser deserved to lose. She hasn't come up with anything that looks decent. On the other hand, the dress with the fishnet was also awful. And the pink, white, and black was also a wreck.

I agree. Heidi couldn't hide it. And wow! Not one congratulations from the bitter crowd! So mean.

Any Lost fans here? One of the male designers had one of Charlie's blue & white Virgin Mary statues on his table. Or I'm imagining things lol.

@Irishk,
Saw the statue. Not being a Lost fan, I didn't get the connection.

Michael C...hmm. I have to say that i didn't get his dress at all. I thought the lace was weird. The dress would have been better without it except that it didn't fit on the bodice. Maybe it looked better in person, but it didn't translate well on tv.

Agreed with the loser. Poor Peach. She is a good seamstress, but not a designer.

@Swimpy,
I liked Mondo's dress better than Michael C.'s, but was laughing along with Heidi to see him win (take THAT, Gretchen and the other byotches!) Except I think Casanova did congratulate Michael -- he cracks me up when he calls Tim 'Tim Gumms'.

I'm wondering if Michael C. was another one to catch on to Heidi's preference for 'short, tight and shiny' since that's what his dress looked like to me!

I know that fashion is largely a matter of taste. But I greatly preferred the beautiful flowy, drapey bathing suit number to April's baby doll number. I think I'm getting too old for what's current.

I didn't like Casanova's outfit, but I thought it was far better than Ivy's--by a mile.

@Irishk,
Poor Cassanova got aufed.

I thought Ivy should have gone, too. She was warned that she will not get a second chance.

@Swimpy,
Oof...Casanova was really starting to grow on me! I found the winning photo... Shocked Starting to question the judges' taste level lol.

@Irishk,
Oh, I don't know. I thought the winning look was definitely the top one or two. I thought Andy's outfit was really nice, too.

@Swimpy,
I'll DVR one of the reruns of the show; it might look better on the runway. Of all the photos, I liked the long black, sleeveless linen -- it looked the most resort-ish to me. Not sure if it was top 3 or not. I read that next week's show has something to do with Jackie O --- should be a good one!

The winning outfit looks like lingerie to me. I'm old, I tell ya. Old. The last time I was at a resort (decades ago), people didn't walk around in their nighties.

True, and black doesn't evoke sea and sun either.

There wasn't one design this week that I thought should be in the top anything. IMO, they all ranged from mundane to outright horrible.

The top three? Not impressed.

Ivy? Eh. A top cut at an angle. With outwear that wasn't anywhere.

The light sheath dress? Eh. And the outwear? A dead thing/schmatta. What the hell was that?

Mondo's outfit? My eyes, my eyes! Horizontal black and white stripes with a huge purple herringbone print. Yeah, right. I can just imagine Jackie O in this little charmer.

The bottom three? Andy's pants--a pair of jodphurs that will live in infamy. That crinkly skirt? A lampshade after a flood? And the nothing outfit from the loser.

The only reason Michael C wasn't in the bottom three for his cocktail dress/sportswear thing was because the others were worse.

Not a promising group from day 1. And they're living down to expectations.

@Roberta,
Once I saw Andy's outfit, I was on pins and needles to get to the judges' comments, having made up my mind that if he got one word of praise, I was going to be done with this show forever! Thankfully, he got his butt handed to him by all the judges, especially Michael Kors. What in the world was Andy thinking?? His muse was Jacqueline Kennedy!! I'd have sent him home.

@Roberta,
I admit to loving Mondo's little number. I thought it channeled not only Jackie O. but Coco Chanel as well. Very well done. the rest of the lot was bad, very bad and worse. I did not think Ivy's outfit deserved all the praise they gave it, either. Don't even get me started with Andy's camel-toe pants. Horrible!
