Interesting preview of tonight's match

Battle Of The Flawed Heavyweights

Torn between nationalism and wanting Australia to turn their game around at the last minute, as they've done before, and just wanting our part in the WC over so I can forget about it.

Should be a really interesting match though.

@hingehead,
I read that article yesterday. I was going to post it here, but I guess I got distracted by something else and forgot.

I've really been looking forward to today's match, but too bad I'm working the afternoon shift, and can only steal momentary looks at the office TV's to catch the score.

Annoyance!

@spidergal,
Do you think it'll be a matter of who makes the least mistakes, or will one team rise to the occasion?

@hingehead,
Not an expert on this sort of thing, hinge, but going by what I've seen of both the teams in this tournament, the outcome will probably hinge who makes the least mistakes.

With a side like Oz, fielding plays a huge role - you've got be real sharp, and I'm not very confident about the Indian team's athletism. Weak fielding is more of a chronic problem now for us - we have accepted it's always going to be there. We have gotten used to it, but we just hope it doesn't flare up during critical encounters.

Dropped Smith, retained White and recalled Hussey.

Does Ponting have a teenage daughter?

@dadpad,
Heh, that would explain some stuff. If Cameron doesn't bowl tonight it seems weird to drop Smith and not him. Great to see Dave Hussey in - batted brill tonight (36 from 24?). Bring back smith - at least he's a better fielder than White - and he couldn't bat or bowl any worse. And I'm a Cameron White fan - but he's lost all confidence.

@spidergal,
India did really well in the field today - must have save 20 runs by cutting 4s into 2s. How well will Aus bowl? How much will the pitch change. A good toss to win. Nice ton Ricky. Brettles about to bowl the first ball of India's innings !

@hingehead,
OK, I'm able to catch the occasional glimpse of the cricket now - there's a TV right behind my station.

Two wides from Oz bowlers in two overs. Looking good!

No wonder they stopped Aussies at 260, but I really wish they'd bundled Oz out.

@spidergal,
Good start for India. Tendulkar and Sehwag looking good. How loud is the crowd?

@hingehead,
They've muted the volume, so I can't hear anything. But the stadium is full, and looks really noisy.

The openers look very comfortable. This is nothing like the 2003 final - they bore such a tormented look on their face then.

Phew. Johnson looks sharp (and hot). He could spoil India's fun.

@dadpad,
I meant the other hot.

What's with so many bowling changes?

Does Ricky have the mind of a teenager?
