I had a long tutoring session with two women from the local correctional facility. They wanted to learn, but were unaccustomed to putting any effort into learning.

When it came time for me to leave, the guard unlocked the door and informed me that I'd be going to University in England this week.

I was delighted.

Two of the women I take dance class with came over.

One of them started organizing something in a room that isn't in the house.
The other took the dogs out in the backyard.

When I went out to check on J and the dogs, I opened the door in the fence (there is no door there) and peeked into the laneway (which is in the next block, not here), and saw one of my colleagues (and his two daughters - 3 years old and 6 weeks old) walking the dogs. I didn't ask where J was, just started talking about toilet-training kids and dogs with W.

Other J announced (how did she get out there?) she was finished cleaning (I thought she was organizing, didn't I?) and we could all come in. We arrived as the dance performance started.

Gus--

Obviously you've been dabbling in Cavalier Poetry.

Quote:
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage

Such an imagination!

I had nightmares last night. The first one woke me up.

I was cutting an Asian blokes hair and he was getting really angry with me 'cos I kept bumping into him (like my arm or leg) and eventually he attacked me.

Sad

It was scary. I had to defend myself with my scissors.

Then I went back to sleep and had another horrible dream where I was a waitress but couldn't keep up with all the tables and then another waitress made me take out these stinking bags of rubbish to a waste tip a the back of the restaurant and I had to wade through festering putrid rubbish to deposit these bags and there was crap all over my hands.

Then on my way back I was beaten up again my men.

Hope you are okay, DP. Scary.

I had a two for one sale last night. I dreamed it was time to get up (4AM)and I couldn't figure why, if it was time, why I was so tired. I was so tired because when I did get up (This dream was so real) I found it was a quarter past one.

Then I had my first running dream. (Isn't that amazing? I've run 1300 miles in the past two years and this was my first running dream.)

In the dream I was in a self-timed race. Everyone was supposed to gather at one spot in the city and start their watchs. Then we were supposed to look for arrows on the pavement to show which way we were supposed to go (more like a bike ride than a race.)

ANYway, I was late to the start AND I forgot my watch. Everyone had left so I just started jogging up the street and somehow found the other runners. At one point I was showing them where they had missed a turn. (We were out in the country somewhere up on Route 9 North, in those little towns.)

At the finish, (which was inside a house with a big living room Question ) we were supposed to write down our times, but I didn't have a watch so I just told the guy to multiply 12 times the distance. He said that would be fine.

Then I was given a pair of nice running gloves as a prize.

I remembered I had to get back to the start and I asked some people for a ride. They said Yes but the woman's shawl kept getting snagged on some branchs and pieces of wood.

I got in an old man's station wagon and we headed back to the start where remembered I had left my bag and other things. My cellphone rang and it was some guy asking me if you could clean styrofoam with Naptha. I said no. He was arguing with me when the old man drove the station wagon into the river. I told him to get in the back seat with my because I could get the door open. He did and we climbed out into about two feet of water.

Then the alarm went off. 4AM.
But I re-set it for 5:30 and here we are.

Crazy dream...
My best girlfriend told me that she didn't like me, that I was unattractive, fat, stinky, everything awful a person could say to another, and that she no longer wanted to be my friend. And I accepted it. But then she came back, as I was getting out of the shower and toweling off, behaving as if she'd never said those things, and I asked her "why are you here?" She didn't answer, she just had this strange little smile on her face, and I asked her again and again until I was finally screaming at her. "Why are you here!?"

In about an hour, I'm driving her and her partner to the airport. Wondering if i should tell her about it? Very Happy

I parked my car in my usual parking spot at the school, but when I returned, it was gone. In its place was a brand new sky blue Lexus with the sticker still on the window. Somebody had taken it for a test drive and switched it with my car. The keys were in it, and I needed to go, so I drove it. I really liked it...so much so that I kept it all day. Later I took it back to the dealership where it came from, and they said they could track down the person who had taken it for the test drive. Then they took me home. But now I had no car.

The police contacted me to say they thought they had found my car, but I would have to come down and identify it within the next hour if I wanted it back. They sent one of the school district's buses to pick me up at the house, but the bus arrived before I could get dressed. I waved at them when they pulled up at the curb and pointed at my watch, indicating that I needed 2 minutes to throw on my clothes. Then I raced into my bedroom, threw open the closet doors, and started looking for something to wear. Everything had huge holes or was too small or didn't have matching pieces, and I kept taking things off and putting others on, but I couldn't make anything work. My husband kept saying, "Hurry! Hurry! Just throw something on!" I looked at the clock. I had been changing clothes for 15 minutes! Surely the school bus had left long ago! Half-dressed, I ran back to the front door to see...

but I woke up before I found out.

(I was so relieved when I came downstairs this morning for breakfast and saw my car parked in the driveway! Too bad it wasn't the sky-blue Lexus, though. )

Sorry about the car, eva. Your brain picked a good one. hmmmm. maybe a hint or two around the time of your birthday. .... I love that your mind thought you should have to take the school bus. Perfect. What homework did you not complete?

I been having Hypnagogic hallucinations. I had to look that up. LINK They are sometimes more interesting than my dreams.

This morning I went back to bed about 6AM. (I'm waiting until it gets warmer before going out to run down the river.) and these people all came floating into my consciousness. There were couples, first the husbands and then the wives, but they all had mis-shaped heads. Flat on the side or the back and very odd eyes. Strange hairdos and kind of gypsyish.
There was a woman in blue jeans who appeared standing on a bowling alley getting ready to roll.
Then I was near the back of a truck and all the people in the back of the truck were wearing blue tarps. Some of them were cold and shivering.

These images appear just as I am drifting off. I really try to stay with them because they are so vivid. Sometimes I see thousands of pictures flash by in seconds. (That's probably because I supposed to be sorting all my family's pictures.) Sometimes it's just flashes of lights like an old acid trip.

I think maybe Eva's car dream inspired this one.

I was driving on the expressway and bumped something in the road and my car bounced across the median onto the other side of the expressway and then it bounced again, off of the expressway and into a neighborhood and it was rolling sideways at breakneck speed and I was trying to brake but couldn't stop it. Finally, it did stop and shaky, I headed back towards the expressway with one foot on the gas and the other hovering above the brake, just in case.
Screwy.

Scary!

I don't remember details (no, really) but I woke up from a vivid dream about an old friend, turned on the computer, and there was an email from him in my inbox! Rather freaky. (We talk occasionally -- last time was maybe 6 months ago.)

In my dream, I was confronted with a sunken cubicle. The floors and walls were covered in a very unpleasing industrial tan carpeting. The only access was by a rather rickety ladder. There was no safety rail--just the drop.

An officious man informed me that this was Friday and I would have to climb down the ladder and cope with Friday.

I refused.

He told me I didn't have that option.

I told him that I'd just finished Thursday; that I'd exited from Thursday in a perfectly normal door and I could see no reason to go crawling down a ladder for this version of Friday when other models were available.

Then the dog woke me up.

I was a either a reporter doing a story or just a viewer watching a story about a woman who was competing in an urban sport. It involved putting someone in a trash can and picking it up and throwing it (and them) in a loop de loop. You got points for completing a complete loop. The dream showed the woman working out at a gym to build up her strength and an interview! where she descibed the dangers of the sport especially to the person inside the can.
"Sometimes they lose their grip and their hands fly out of the can. They can get caught between the can and the pavement."

I was exploring what seemed to be a ruined temple complex--or it may have been an atmospheric folly designed to represent a ruined temple. The grass was very neatly trimmed and while sheep were grazing, sheep aren't big on edging.

At any rate, I'd made arrangements to meet someone "by the fountain"--but there were several fountains and I kept wandering.
