@Roberta,
Happy new years eve, and new year, Roberta.
I'm mentally sending your tastebuds some smoked whitefish, and some braised pork tenderloin, in a peanut sauce.

@alex240101,
Thanks, Alex. The smoked whitefish got a definite rise out of me. I'm going to have to add that to my wish list. I might try one soon. I can taste salty things. Problem is I like to eat with with stuff I can't taste yet. I must be patient.

Pork tenderloin with peanut sauce. Slurp.

I wish everybody a new year filled with only good things. Enjoy the holiday. Celebrate if that's what you do. Relax.

Moi? I'm sorting through mountains of papers, pulling together info so that I can possibly get some emergency money. Don't I have all the fun?

Three appointments at the hospital next week.

I will not be sorting at midnight. I'll be watching the ball fall down.

@Roberta,
May the slide into 2009 be gentle ... and may the year be minimally kvetch-worthy.

Thank you all for the new year good wishes. I send them right back atcha. Imagining how the menorah smells, bethie. Divine, I'm guessing.

Can't be positive or optimistic about the new year, at least not until they've finished cutting my skull open and taking out what doesn't belong there.

I think I'm gonna view the new year as starting in March.

Had one of my wish-list foods. A fresh salad--lettuce, tomato, cucumber with a light ranch dressing. The dressing made me gag a bit. Didn't care. It felt good to eat fresh veggies. Smile

@Roberta,
Can you imagine the odor when they lit that salami menorah. Mighta been a tiny bit overwhelming, though there's nothing like grilled salami.

beth, Love kosher salami, Genoa salami. Cooked, raw. Smells good. Tastes good.

deb, I tasted everything! Even the gaggy dressing. Progress.

Made tomoto sauce. Had spaghetti and meatballs last night. Tasted the sauce. Tasted the spaghetti. The meatballs tasted like mud. I'm gonna need more time for meats, methinks.

Still checking in and waiting for better times for Roberta. And inch by inch may it get better for now. And may giant steps be on the horizon.

Maybe the Happy New Year will not be available until March, but think how fast the last months have passed. Let's pull for Boida and her support group to have a real St. Patty's Day blowout.

@Foxfyre,
HA... that's a happy blue smiley emoticon! Love it!

So Boida - how's it going today? Glad the tastebuds are beginning to respond... tho don't envy the tasting like mud bit. It will improve tho with time. You sound as tho you are doing a little better girl, which is wonderful. Good days and not so good days - hoping that the bad days will go and let you build up some strength for the next hurdle.

Hugs to you
