I had the MRI yesterday. Went to the hospital early so I could go to the finance office and try to arrange a partial payment plan. Instead I was reclassified based on my current income. Not only was the cost of the MRI reduced, but everything else I pay at Bellevue has been reduced by half. Very Happy

Oh, Robbie, I am soooo glad to see that.

(I like the gold coins, and have enjoyed the dredl. Certainly like potato latkes. Definitely like the candles..)

@ossobuco,
I reckon... she does drink coffee right? with chocolate sprinkles on top and a smidgen of cinnamon. Oh............. that sounds divine. Maybe a small... just a small Baileys on ice to wash it down.

In fact.. I am going to go get a small Baileys right now... after all, I have 364 days until I am 45.... so if you'd like to join me.... just shout!

@Izzie,
Mmmmm, I'm thinking a small espresso, or maybe a macchiato, for tiramisu'.

Of course that could be "corrected" with Bailey's or grappa..

@Izzie,
Your birthday was the 22nd Izzie? How did we miss that? I don't do a Bailey's but have some splendid eggnog which works well for a proper toast.

Roberta, I still have you on my critical prayer list since you said you don't mind. Whether or not those prayers are helping, they sure can't hurt. Smile

So glad to hear that you have a blessing here and there to mix in with the yucky stuff in your life right now. My prayer is the the blessings will grow until they crowd out the yucky.

Very Happy That is just wonderful, Roberta! (... & about bloody time your real financial circumstances were taken into account!)

I hope this has taken some of the pressure off your shoulders.

I mention I like Chanukah and what happens? The bunny goes bersoik. Thanks, debbele and all you other guys for the holiday wishes--and the good thoughts about my new financial status at the hospital.

No, I cannot eat tiramisu. I can't eat anything SWEET. Makes me gag. Choke. Cough uncontrollably. No chocolate sprinkles either. (BTW, I miss sweet.)

Izzie, The boy's hairdo is, well, goofy. I'm old and old-fashioned about such things. But if you like it, so be it.

For the past thirty-plus years, I've gone to friends upstate for Christmas. Saw the kids become adults. Not going this year. Unlike my birthday and Thanksgiving, where I can get a raincheck, this can't made up at another time. Sad and disappointed. C'est la vie.

Yay, Boidy. I love you and that Bronx accented voice of yours.

Good news indeed about the hospital reducing your charges by half. I know that I should be happy, and I am, but I need to kvetch about the disorganization that knotted your care and finances into something almost irretrievable.

Bob is doing better than he should be, I don't know where he finds the strength in that skinny body of his, so I have decided no to wring his scrawny neck....this time.

And Fred still won't say "Obama." The Republican little stinker. You were right to say that he has as much right to be a Republican as anyone else, but I feel that I have failed dreadfully as a mommy.

Thinking of you all the time and love the fact that you and Bob are giving the finger to each other. That means things are almost back to normal, at least between you and Bob.

What about Kalhua with milk? It's yummy and smooth. Even provides a serving of vegetable. Coffee is from a bean, after all.

Smooch and a gentle hug.

Kahlua, shmalua.

Alcohol is too harsh for my throat. But it doesn't matter. Why? Because I DON'T DRINK. Even if I weren't recovering from the effects of radiation, I wouldn't have the damned kahlua.

Enough with the booze. Never tasted any alcoholic beverage I like. EVER. Tried many. Fuggedaboudit.

And on that cheery note, I'd like to wish every single person who participates in this thread (and many who don't) a wonderful holiday. I hope Santa is kind and generous to you all.

PS to Diane: There's no shame in having a Republican boid. It's not like he votes.

@Roberta,
If you can't eat sweets, could you just get a piece of fudge, and sort of hold it you your mouth?

@Roberta,
I made latkes last night.

I was getting my plate ready, trying to decide whether to have ff sour cream or apple sauce. Decided that you'd tell me to have both and fuggedabodit.

I hope you'll feel like latkes will work with your throat soon. Lemme know. Mebbe I can come grate some taters and onions for you - or take you out to have some.

@ehBeth,
You're right, bethie. I woulda said have both. I always do.

I had latkes a few days ago. Made 'em myself. Wasn't sure if I could manage to get them down. Did. The major problem was the grating. I'm in such a debilitated state that I had to rest three times before I could finish grating one potato. Who cares. Got it grated.

On the down side, I ate them, but I don't know if they were good or not. Taste has not yet returned. I learned from this to avoid work with food. I can't taste it anyway, so why bother?

Managed ginger ale today. Worried about the carbonation. It was okay.

So I'm millimetering along.
