A month ago, I had a CAT scan on my chest. I got the results today. There's something on my right lung, but they don't know what it is, so I have to have a PET scan. It could be nothing; could be something.

I should have the test and the results in a couple of weeks.

The doctor told me to relax. Clearly he doesn't know who he's talking to.

Sigh.

@Roberta,
I ran into something similar. According to their interpretation of an mri, they decided is was the result of a case of tuberculosis. I didn't know you could have that and not know about it, but that was their conclusion. I wonder if they were familiar with all the crap you breath while working in a coal fired power plant for six years.

Poo is right. I'm rushing you a virtual supply of dark chocolates of your choice to carry you through this aggravation time..

Thanks for all the good wishes and delicious stuff.

I haven't heard from the PET scan place. Gotta check with the doctor. I typed that without making a face. Reaching a doctor at Bellevue is probably harder than reaching the president.

@Roberta,
Hopefully, that means there is no bad news as I expect they would make attempts to contact you if there were. But, then again, this is Bellevue.

How is everything else going with you?

I'm fighting through a plateau, doing battle between rebuilding muscle tone and losing more weight. I'm getting more exercise and am more hungry as a result. Still working on fine tuning so progress toward both goals continues. Increasing my protein intake doesn't seem to tame the hunger as well as it has for the past year.

Am planning a drive to Texas in a couple weeks to see Shewolf. Looking forward to getting out of the house and seeing the sights in eastern NM/western TX for the first time.

@Butrflynet,
I wasn't clear. Sorry. I haven't had the PET scan yet. I'm trying to reach the doctor because he's the one who arranges the scan. I called on Monday and was told to call back Wed. morning. I set my alarm and called back this morning. I was told to call back this afternoon. Gimme the steenkin' test already.

Sorry to hear that you're caught in the catch 22 of exercise/hunger. Phooey on that.

Please send my regards to shewolf. Also have a good trip.

@Roberta,
They don't just send you a time for the damn PET scan? Or you just don't call and find a reception person and negotiate a time?

I guess that would be too simple. Why do you have to track down a doctor?

@dlowan,
I heard from the doctor (thud). The PET scan people aren't answering the phone, but he's gonna keep trying.

Why don't they let me make the appointment? Who the hell knows?

@Roberta,
Just keep at it, there's not much else you can do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I woke up to find a message from the doctor. I have an appointment for tomorrow. The scan place was supposed to call with details. No call. So I have an appointment, and I don't know where.

It took me all afternoon. I mean ALL afternoon, but I now know where.

I contacted Access-a-Ride to arrange a round trip. (I've just been accepted--with restrictions). Turns out, no round trip. They won't take me down to the scan place, but they will take me back. Huh?

I spoke with my social worker. She suggested that I appeal my restrictions.

Let's face it. I'm gonna kvetch under the best of circumstances. But this much fodder for kvetching is overwhelming. I'm pooped.

Also, the appointment will prevent me from seeing the dogs tomorrow. Phooey on that.

I'll get the results of the steenkin' scan on Wednesday.

@Roberta,
Glad you now have the appointment, hope it goes smoothly getting there and that they are prompter issuing results than appointments.

@Roberta,
Very sorry to see the twists and turns to your medical appointments and health issues. What a burden.

I'm also awaiting my PET scan results (uncommon form of N-H Lymphoma). This is a follow-up to the first one done at Xmas. My second CT-scan has shown things are quiet and no new developments. I should be hearing around tomorrow or next day. Crossing fingers for all of us.
