Surgery--Again

Back from Bellevue. Saw the internist. It took me so long to get the appointment that a serious problem resolved itself. The doc told me that if it ever happens again, I should go directly to the emergency room. Who knew?

Speaking of the doc, this was a new one and a major cutie.

He wants me to go to the dental clinic to get my toothache checked out. The Bellevue dental clinic doesn't handle standard dentistry; it does mostly dental surgery. But the doc said I can at least get an X-ray and diagnosis.

I didn't have to wait to see the doctor. Went in right away. A Christmas miracle? Nah! It took almost forty minutes for the appointment lady to give me my appointments. What took so steenkin' long? For both appointments, she told me I have to call.

@Roberta,
It's resolved? It was serious but it's gone?

Can they quickly take the teeth out while they are pretending to x ray them?

@dlowan,
osso, Old but not dead. I know a genuine cutie when I see one. Where were these hunks when I was in my prime?

debbele, Very serious. And now apparently completely resolved. But I'm alert to the problem and will know if it's back.

It's possible that they'll be able to extract the tooth if that's what's called for.

I've been taking too many pain killers. The doc told me not to. I can't take this pain. I have a very high tolerance for pain, but not this.

I once had a discussion with a doctor about levels of pain. They sometimes ask you how bad the pain is on a scale from one to ten. Even when I had just come out of surgery, I never got past a nine. The doc was surprised. He said people sometimes say fifteen or twenty. The toothache? Maybe an eleven or twelve.

@Roberta,
Toothache pain is awful. Sounds like a tooth that needs root canal or extraction. In your case, extraction. Root canal COSTS.

@dlowan,
Even if I had the money, I don't know that root canal would apply. Part of the tooth is broken. Don't know if it's worth saving.

I didn't take any pain killers yesterday. So far, so good today.

@vonny,
Still OK. But I'm gonna get it checked out anyway--eventually.

@Roberta,
Just the way I am, put it off and maybe it'll make itself better. That's been my philosophy for years and I see no reason to change it.

More seriously, hope your teeth behave themselves and stop acting up.

@dlowan,
Don't ask, bunny. Too late. You already did. Money problems are making me sick to my stomach. Big time. Social worker came up with a plan to help. I'm wavering. My lawyer is adamantly opposed. I'm meeting with the the social worker later today.

I can't take much more. In addition, I'm having asthma problems and can't afford my meds. My new prescription plan sucks.

On the whole, I'm eh minus.

How's by you?

@Roberta,
Worried about you - haven't seen a post from you for ages. Almost scared to ask! Rolling Eyes

So sorry to hear about your financial problems - I do hope your Social worker is able to help you put a plan into action, as long as it eventually works out in your favour. Good luck!

I'm having another operation on my nose on 13th February. Plastic surgery to remove the 'trapdooring and pin cushioning' - something like that! Guess who's scared stiff - even more so this time. What a coward!

At least I don't have to deal with asthma on a daily basis like you do - I wish they'd sort out a workable prescription plan for you.

@Roberta,
Oh dear. That's worrying if you are getting such conflicting advice...... Only hoping something useful can be thrashed out.

Best to you too, Vonny!!!

@dlowan,
The social worker just left. The problem is no more. Now there's another problem. I'm confident it will be resolved.

My spirits are lifted, and my stomach may calm down.

Izzie and Deb, How little you know me. When I said my spirits were lifted, I did not mean they were high. They certainly ain't soaring. They've gone from the depths to ground level. And I'm glad for that.

lonny, I'll get my hoper oiled up for your surgery.

osso, We've got soul mate stomachs? Poor you.
