Any women that gets the pleasure of a meal with Thomas is truly blessed. So glad that worked out. Hoping he gave you a hug for all of us.

Just checking in and catching up. The Oprah idea was something I toyed with a couple of years ago. I know of no other forum like this, but then I don't go to any other forums. The Paypal account would be perfect.

Roberta, Eva, Caribou... All sisters to me in stubborness. Don't even THINK about telling me what to do! Very Happy I like to think of it as a strength and a virtue, of course.

Continuing to keep you in my thoughts, Roberta.

I'm watching; I'm watching. Saw some major mistakes by the American goils. Watched the swimming. The men's relay had me gasping.

Heading to the hospital for my CT scan. The prednisone is upsetting my stomach. So should anything be easy?

Roberta- When I was taking large doses of prednisone for cancer, the doc gave me Zantac to counteract the harsh effects of the prednisone. I would suppose that any acid reducer, such as Prilosec or Prevacid, would do the job!

I hope Roberta asks her doc about that, Phoenix.

Good luck, Roberta!

(But, WOW, the Russian gymnasts were amazing!)

Back from the scan. I had to take three prednisone pills to get me through the scan. Period.

I take Prilosec daily for acid reflux.

I'm gonna eat something and go to sleep before it's time for me to get up.

Why the prednisone to get you through the scan? Any results from the scan?

Sleep well.......

Correct. When the dye goes through the lungs, it can trigger an attack.

I have to go back on Wed. to get the plan agreed on by the cancer planning board. They'll have the results of the scan.

I continue to be amazed by the medical workers in the hospital. After the scan, I got up from the table and felt a little light-headed. I guess I got up too fast. The doctor held my hand as he personally walked me all the way back to the check-out lady. A gentle soul.

I continue to have mixed feelings about the nonmedical people. Some are fine; some are dismissive, rude, and uncaring. The check-in lady was so busy gossiping with friends who kept stopping by that I was ignored. Waiting with the bp thing around my arm. Waiting, waiting. I was getting angry. I finally jumped in to the conversation and stuck in my two cents about their friend whose husband beat her. They were laughing. I was not amused. Sigh. Two new friends. Got my bp taken and was moved along.

Geeze, I hate those cuffs on for long. Not pumped up, I trust.

I used to have trouble just sitting up and getting down from the table at rad therapy, not, I bet, so much to do with the rads as with me in space.
Good to hear about the good medical folk.

Only those who have met our Boida can pull up a mental image of that situation in full color. Her attitude is one of no nonsense, dry humor and a "Do It Now" message that is remeniscent of "She who must be obey'd."

Thing is, I can see the nurses treating her with respect instead of the usual roll of the eyes, "If I must," attitude.

Yes, I'm sure she added two new friends to her roster.
