soz, How much should you worry? Dunno. I've been so worried about money that I haven't given full worry attention to this. I'm falling down on the worry job.

Well, WE can do the worrying about the head for you, then.

Or would you like to swap? That is, we do the money worry for a while....we'll take the head too, if you like...maybe if we do it, you could have a rest?

@dlowan,
Dlowan, you take the money worry, I'll take the head worry. (My head has been much abused today, it won't be much of a stretch. I even managed to stab myself in the ear with my fingernail. Sounds trivial, but I evidently have very sharp and sturdy fingernails. OW.) (OK actually it was trivial but for about 6 seconds I was seeing stars.)

You two are da best. But we all know that nothing is going to stop me from worrying. I just need to apply my skills in a broader way.

It's possible that my brain concerns are a new form of stress. But with a grandmother who had senile dementia and a mother who had Alzheimer's, if I'm not worrying about a tumor, I'm worrying about one of those. I'll start up the real worrying when I find out what's wrong.

In the meantime, I know I've got money problems. They require my immediate worry focus.

@djjd62,
Thanks, dj, but even if I didn't have to worry, I would. It's genetic. My grandmother was the Empress of Worry. I can only dream of achieving her heights.

@Roberta,
Speaking of your ancestors, Roberta ...
I'm hoping (when you have the time & the inclination, of course) for more of your reminiscences and photographs on your NY "family" thread. (I'm sorry I've forgotten the title of it. Would it be too much trouble to post a link here?)
Love that thread!

In the meantime, I so wish that you had a damn sight less to worry about right now.
Sigh.

I'm contemplating adding something to that thread. Ruminating. Something may show up in the not too distant future.

Dinner with Roberta at Pig Heaven was enjoyable as always this evening. I seized the chance to steal food from the plate of a woman with money worries. (It greatly appealed to my dark side.) Perhaps the story she told me about The Nazi Spoon in her family was meant to be a discrete hint? Fortunately I'm socially tone-deaf, so I wouldn't know.

So, Thomas, what did you two eat at Pig Heaven?
(What a wonderful name for a foodery! I wish I could indulge myself there! Smile )
I usually ask such questions of Roberta.
Who is very patient & obliging of my requests for more details.
So perhaps she should be the one to answer? Smile

So I'll ask you: what did you steal from Roberta's plate?
And did she steal from yours?

@dlowan,
Yes!
I must say I was very surprised, too, Deb.
It seemed so out of character, somehow. This theft of bits of Roberta's dinner .... Wink

So what did you eat when you & Roberta dined at Pig Heaven?

@msolga,
He didn't steal nuttin'. He's just trying to sound tough. It can't be theft if I offer it freely.

I had chicken with aspargus and mushrooms. The chicken was so thinly sliced it was almost shaved. The asparagus were perfectly cooked--not too hard, not too soft. The mushrooms added the perfect touch. The sauce was very light. A delicate dish.

Thomas had pulled pork with barbeque sauce. Onions and scallions were cooked in. Tangy, tender, and delicious. How do I know? He freely gave me some. Thomas doesn't even bother ordering appetizers anymore. He knows he's gonna get some of my food.

I've been eating at Pig Heaven for years. I've never had a bad meal there. Olga, c'mon over. You'll love it.

I hope I wasn't socially inappropriate by bringing up the Nazi Spoon. It came up cuz I'm thinking about expanding that thread into a story for publication, and I mentioned writing. He talked more about reading.

I had a good time. That Thomas is a very good kid.

PS: If all goes according to plan, I'll be adding to my family thread before I go to sleep tonight.

@Roberta,
We know Thomas is good...we was teasing.

What on EARTH is pulled pork?

I don't remember what I had at Pig Heaven...but it was nice.

The conversation was better, though!

@dlowan,
You had a whole fish. I asked that they face it away from me. It was covered in some kinda crust. I tasted it. It was delish. I agree about the conversation.

Pulled pork is pork that cooked until it's tender. Then it's pulled apart into small bite-sized pieces. Delish.

I added the new post the the family thread. Here's the link:
