@Izzie,
I am signed up for the hospital's ambulette service. Free transportation. I use it going down to the hospital. It's more complicated going home. Since I never know when an appointment will be over, I can't arrange things ahead of time. If I choose to use the ambulette going home, I have a wait time. I can't stand easily, and I'm not breathing easily. So waiting around is a challenge.

I elected to take a cab. Under normal circumstances, I'd be home by the time I'd be finished waiting for the ambulette.

Friday was not normal circumstances. I'm gonna keep track of the UN's general assembly. If it's in session again, I ain't going to the hospital unless it's an emergency. If the president is in town, I'm staying home. Noo Yawk, Noo Yawk, it's a wonderful town. The Bronx is up and the battery's down.

@Izzie,
Izzele, Thanks for the links and the help.

I've been schlepping back and forth to Bellevue for five years. This never happened before. Let's hope it was a one-time thing.

I'll show you guys one of the pics I drew last week. Tres goofy. It makes me laugh to thing about it.

I drew a pic this week. Moved me. Moved my therapist. Strange but in a personal way. Not sure I'll post it. But it was enlightening. That's what the therapy is all about, isn't it?

Last week I drew a chalk drawing of an oil painting I did many years ago. A blue flower. Why did it come up? I'm thinking about hanging it up. Brought the painting in for the therapist to see. She was impressed. The petals had depth. The flower had shape and looked alive.

I remembered the frustration I experienced when I painted. I could never get anything right enough! Ever! (I'm a colossal pain in the ass, especially to myself). Maybe it took me 25 years to get past the frustration and actually like the painting!

Art therapy has not only provided me with enlightenment, but it's given me the freedom to not worry about what things look like. Just draw. Not drive myself nuts.

@Roberta,
I knew you were good at this, bubula.
At the least, good hand eye coordination. Flare for making line move. Brains behind what is depicted.

I'm headed back to Bellevue. My asthma has taken a turn for the worse. Not going to the ER. I'm going to the walk-in and wait all day to see a doctor clinic. I'm going early. Maybe I'll only have to wait half a day.

If they admit me, I'll tell Sheila, and she'll let you know. Don't think that's gonna happen though.

Hasta later.

Back from Bellevue. I found out the magic word that makes the wait all day to see a doctor clinic the don't wait at all clinic.

Wanna know what it is?

ASTHMA!

Got five new prescriptions, including more steroids, and an appointment with the asthma clinic. What asthma clinic? says I. The one at Bellevue. Better late than never, I always say.

Had a helluva time getting home. No traffic. Just can't walk. Dropped off the scrips. The pharmacy is at the back of the store. I nearly didn't make it. Took a cab home--2 blocks. Got milk at the market. Nearly didn't make it.

Will probably cancel my therapist appointments on Friday. I'll decide tomorrow.

I have a peak flow meter. It measures your breath (exhalation) for asthma sufferers. Checked it when I woke up. Hell, I'm dead, I said. Not quite.

See what happens when you soar at high altitudes. No air.

@Eva,
Uh oh. Not much food in the house. I will probably have to order in. The steroids will take a while to kick in appetite wise.

Oh, good. At least you have some warning.

The last time they gave me steroids, it was in one of those packs where you take six the first day, five the second, in decreasing amounts. By the second day, I was ravenous.

I canceled my therapist appointments, so you'll have to wait an extra week to see the goofy picture.

Feeling not good. Waiting for all the new meds to kick in. For now, I'm having trouble navigating my apartment. Trapped again. Phooey.

@Roberta,
Well, bugger!!!!! I do hope the meds kick in fast. How in hell am I supposed to talk to you in person if you can't breathe???

Sounds as though I need to bring food or you'll eat me.

But seriously.....I do hope you feel better soon. Pain in the bum this asthma.

@dlowan,
I've already been worrying, Will I be well enough to get out of the house and see Deb. I'll do it--somehow. Of course there's a chance that I'll be feeling better soon. But I'm not counting on it.

Don't worry. I'll never be hungry enough to eat a wabbit.

@Roberta,
My art therapist thought I'd like having my pictures with me. She e-mailed them to me. This means that you get to see the goofy picture today. The image isn't as sharp as it would be if I had scanned the original, so you're gonna have to look closely to see the goofy part. Here's a hint:

BTW, I'm starting to hear Gregorian chants coming from my Nebulizer (breathing machine). I think I've been inside a bit too long.

I'm working at the computer. The nebulizer thing is in my mouth. The nebulizer is behind me on a table.
