"The throat looks good," said the doctor.

"I believe I can fly.
I believe I can touch the sky," says me.

Not breathing too well today. Got plans to improve this.

I'm due for my annual PET scan. Gotta make arrangements.

Now comes the kvetch.

The UN General Assembly is in session today. Know why I care? TRAFFIC. I don't mean traffic. I mean TRAFFIC. A cop on every corner. Streets closed off. And steenkin' protests. Just to put the icing on the cake, a hunk, all greased up, is running around in his black silk underwear on Third Avenue. Just when I wanted to slow down, we sped up.

Usual cab fare from Bellevue, one way, including tip. $15. Today. $27.

And I soar with the eagles, as though I had wings.

@Roberta,
The throat looks good!!

Fantastic!

And you got a glimpse of a greased-up, black-silk-underwear-bedecked hunk. Not enough of a glimpse, but sounds like it was a memorable glimpse. (Did he have something to do with the UN?)

@Roberta,
Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about traffic, yesterday they had a 2 for 1 sale at Jose's House of Tacos on central avenue here in Albaturkey, traffic was slowed down for almost an entire block, Diane was almost 3 minutes late for her Drs. appt.

Thanks all. I've been moved to tears. Throat's ok. Soaring. Beautiful music and videos of boids. You guys is da best.

Soz, I have no idea whether the hunk had something to do with the UN. I had a very brief glimpse. I could give a very detailed description if the police were hunting this guy. Old but not dead yet.

dys, Thanks for sharing your traffic problems with us. As I used to say in the Bronx and still do say in Manhattan, "Ich chubse in drerd."

I will still have to have my throat checked regularly for several more years. Not cured yet. But I'm so relieved that I am truly soaring. Light. Unburdened--at least for now.

I know I've said it before, but it merits repeating. I don't know how I could have gotten through everything without you wonderful people. Your presence, your support, your concern means the world to me.

Let me know the NYC time & I'll be focusing extra hard on a really good outcome for you ... at the exact time of your consultation.

(I'm not in the least bit surprised you're very apprehensive. Good luck!)

Delayed response:

Olga, my appointment was for 10:30. I was there on time. I didn't get seen until one in the afternoon. This clinic has my all time record for waiting. I once waited four and a half hours. No way I could know ahead of time when I'd be seen. Sorry I didn't tell you this sooner.

I appreciate your plan to focus extra hard at the right moment. But at this hospital, the right moment doesn't happen until the moment is right.

Just watched the two videos posted here. Thanks Izzie and Butrflynet. Moved my mouth to the words. Stretched my arms out while I was sitting in my ancient desk chair. Still feeling good.

Back from Bellevue. Did I say there was traffic on Tuesday? What do I know. Yes, there was TRAFFIC on Tuesday. Today there was TRAFFIC

It cost me forty steenkin' bucks to get home. Thud.

I saw the art therapist. She forgot to bring back my pictures from last week. I was gonna post something goofy. It will have to wait until next week.

Got two new jobs sitting and waiting for me. I was hoping for a little more free time. Not complaining. Glad to have work.

Still soaring.

The only time I can remember worse traffic in da Big Apple was when Gorbachev was in town. Da sonumabitch got out of his car and was greeting people on the street. Hey Gorby. My car is behind your car. Get your ass back in the car and mooooooove.

Gonna try not to think about how much getting home cost me this week.

No Chippendale sitings. Sigh. I have a feeling that was a one-time capture the moment thing. The moment is indelibly etched in my aging and beat up brain. This kid's short-term memory is doing just fine.

@Roberta,
Robbie, a week or so before my last eye surgery I decided to look up a firm - which name is lost to me now - that my eye surgeon recommended if I ever needed a ride. It was a taxi service that I think just did medical, and for less money than a regular taxi. I thought it might be a possibility if I had a very early morning scheduling.

I hesitate to guess that New York City has such a service, but who knows?

@ossobuco,
I know. There are all kinds of transportation opportunities. I chose not to use one because I'm having trouble breathing and I didn't want to have to wait for a half hour standing up outside the hospital.

@Roberta,
Hey Boida

I searched around the internet and couldn't find any Bellevue hospital services that were apt - tho they do have a contact us on this page

http://www.nyc.gov/html/hhc/html/contact/contact.shtml

which, if you scroll to the bottom of the pages there's a blue box which says Send A Message to the President of HHC

(course I don't know if that is the right hospital) - but it might be worth a shot asking if there is something that can be done to assist you maybe financially... or otherwise.

it brings up this page and you can write up to 150 words as an enquiry giving your email as a contact point

http://www.nyc.gov/html/mail/html/mailhhc.html

may not be useful coz I understand about the having to wait around for hospital cars to be available... but, nothing gained, nothing ventured.... $40 .... highway robbery!

Glad you are doing so well, such welcome news goil, and looking forward to pics or descripts of pics... fascinated by the art therapy - it has given you so much peace, focus FAB.Very Happy
