Got to the hospital at the crack of dawn--9 a.m. Miserable day--wind and rain. Brought work with me. Completed proofreading 25 pages just as my name was called.
Saw the neurosurgeon. They're concerned about my plans for radiation. I told the doc I'd be getting an MRI and seeing the radiation oncologist in March. He said I didn't have to see neurosurgeons again unless the radiation doc sent me.
Used my Medicaid card. Found out I needed a new hospital card because of the Medicaid. While I was waiting for the new card, I asked how I was supposed to pay back bills. The card is good starting in October 2009. The lady clicked the computer a bit and said it was all taken care of!!! The brain surgery is now paid for.
The card is also good for Oct-Nov 2008, when I was in the hospital for 13 days. So now I can pay the $150,000 worth of medical bills from then. I can also assume that collection agencies will stop bothering me.
Too bad I can't use Medicaid to pay the rent. Oops. Sorry. A kvetch snuck out. Can't help myself. I'm very pleased with Medicaid. One less thing for me to worry about.
