And I shall celebrate when I have some assurance from somebody that this ain't gonna happen again. Not that said assurance would mean it wouldn't happen. Come to think of it, I'll celebrate when the steenkin' check arrives and let it go at that.

@Roberta,
It'll be okay. They had an automated setup in the computer. If they changed it now, it will be right forever more. The damn things have incredible memories; you just gotta tell it the right thing to get it started.

I heard from the art therapist at Bellevue. We're meeting on Friday. I'm excited. We talked briefly. She told me that there's a range of media between oil and water colors. I mentioned other stuff I like to do. Like working with clay--and needlework. All are possibilities. And she's aware of the pain-in-the-ass problem and is prepared to deal with it.

YESSSSS. I'm really looking forward to this. Very Happy

Not yet!!

Blizzard here. Chances are I won't be able to see therapist or art person tomorrow. The way things are going, chances are I won't be able to see across the street.

Phooey. I need some scrips filled. Now that I have Medicaid, maybe I'll try moving the presciptions to the local drugstore. Then I won't have to schlep miles away to get things filled. In fact, my local drugstore delivers.

Art shmart. The art ain't goin' anywhere. I'm almost out of pills. The kind you can't stop taking. I cut one in half to get me to Monday. I figure half is better than nuttin'.

Actually I'm very disappointed about the art. But I really can't schlep around in 18 inches of snow. I can't do the walking necessary for the buses. And I don't have money for cabs. That's of course assuming that if I had the money, I'd be able to get a cab.

In my younger years in weather like this, I would have wended (and did wend) my way to Central Park and romped, made snow angels, thrown a snowball or three or twenty, and built a snow animal. I once built a wonderful snow kangaroo with a pouch and a joey. Dem were da days. I might have even headed south to the Central Park Zoo to see the Japanese snow monkeys. Hey monkeys. You like the weather?

The last time it snowed I was trying to cross the street. A young feller came along and offered me his arm to help me navigate the curb. I took it (gave it back, too).

Fie on being feeble. Feh and fooey too.

Da check arrived. (Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.) Can I get to the bank? Dunno. It's mighty ooky out there. Lots of snow and ice on the ground. The streets are shoveled, but things are still slippery.

Where's global warming when I need it?

@Roberta,
I been thinking about this.

I think mebbe you need to look into getting a pet giant tortoise.

they are quiet, eat leftover veggies, and have good traction in ooky weather.

(not sure where you would get a saddle, however)

I'll keep thinking...

@Roberta,
Either way you are going to have to wait until the break of morn. Say 10 or 11ish considering today is a Saturday and the banks have crappy weekend hours, even in Gotham City.

Unless you bank with Louie.

@Rockhead,
RH, You mean like the giant tortoises on the Galapagos?

What the hell would I do with a giant reptile in my apartment? Dem guys is big! I don't have any leftover veggies. And how do these guys do in cold weather? Have they ever encountered snow and ice. I thought reptiles tend to become torpid in the snow.

Otherwise a good idea. (Remember, I can find the downside to anything--and I'm in a downsidey mood.)

Thanks for the suggestion. You're a good kid.

tsar, Louie, shmouie. The only way I'm up at that hour is if I haven't been to sleep yet. If I try to get to the bank, I'll slog over later. Is that a snow drift--or is there a car buried under that lump?

Tsar, An improvided yeti igloo on the upper east side of Manhattan. I like it. Probably right in front of the Starbucks.

RH, I'm gonna start knitting the sweater now. As for the galoshes, the toitle is on his own. Maybe I'll knit him some booties. The sacrifices I make. Sigh.
