It sure does!! Don't forget to arrange for a better deal with the hospital afterwards. There is always room for negotiations.

I hope you'll have someone with you when you get home Roberta? All the best wishes for a fast recovery and please - stop smoking now!

Jane, Thanks for the good thoughts. This is a city hospital. No negotiations beyond the fact that I got them to agree to accept half now and half later. There will be someone to take me home.

As for the stopping smoking. I've tried! I'm still trying. I've been in programs. I've investigated others. I want to stop. Not easy--especially when I'm under stress.

It is very hard, no question about it! My guess is that when you'll come
home from the hospital you won't be able to smoke for a while and that's
a great opportunity to stop, Roberta. Remove all ashtrays, cigarettes, lighters,
whatever reminds you of smoking and start chewing Wrigley's. Very Happy

Yes, boys and girls, surgery again, again.

This coming Tuesday (July 29) I will have a small growth removed from my throat. Doctors do not believe it is malignant. In fact, they think it's a wart (in my throat!!). But it must be removed and biopsied.

I will not have to stay in the hospital overnight (so they say).

I've been in a funk from the second I found out about this. Now I can combine that with a bit of panic and a strange numbness.

Feh and pooh yet again.

I'm very sorry to hear that more surgery is now on the cards, Roberta. Feh & pooh, indeed! Crying or Very sad

Good luck for Tuesday. I hope you get out of there as quickly as anticipated.

Sounds like a great opportunity for stocking up on your favorite ice cream or fruit sorbet!

Nothing soothes a throat after surgery like ice cream. That's still my most vibrant memory from more than 40 years ago when I had my tonsils removed...all that yummy, soothing ice cream I got in the hospital and at home.

Here's a dish of some for you with your favorite bowl and slippers.

Thanks again for the kind wishes.

Bethie, love the medical Pez dispensers. That Pez goil would be moi? Do I have to wear the hat?

Butrflynet, Thanks for the ice cream info. Believe it or not, I've still got my tonsils. I'll be stocking up on my Hagen Daz manana.

Boidy, we all know that a goil as sweet as you should never have to put up with this ****. Sweet, sweet Boida.

Now I know I've gotten you into fighting mode...he, he

Seriously, I love you dearly and will be thinking of you. I know you won't be able to talk comfortably, but when you heal a little more, let's spend some good phone time.

osso and jes, Thanks for the Pez dispensers. osso, Yours reminds me of the Rockettes (sans legs). jes, Yours is a Frosty the Snowman kinda guy. What size Pezes does that thing dispense?

Tai, Thanks for the good wishes. I'll take all I can get.

Diane, I know full well that you don't think I'm sweet. You say it to piss me off, and you succeed each and every time. Grrrrrr. So call me. We'll talk. Don't know if my speech will be impeded. It will probably take more than soigery to shut me up. We'll see.
