@dlowan,
I don't do stripes, but I appreciate the analogy.

Deb, What kind of meshugina tiger is that with a woman's profile on the left side of his face?

@Roberta,
A photo-shopped tiger.

It's a tiger-woman.

So I finished dinner, and I thought I'd take a bath. (I have to be at the hospital early tomorrow.) Then I said to myself, "You can't go in the water right after you eat." Thud. Oy.

Never mind going back to work. Should I be wandering the streets? Going to the hospital anyway. I miss me, assuming of course that I remember who I was. What I'm sure of is that this ain't it.

@Roberta,
It resembles it, said the Prince, as Saralinda resembles the rose.

Had an interesting day at the hospital. Made a mistake with an appointment. Never happened before. Rather than provide a long, long detailed account, following is a summary:

Doctor's office (dermatologist; all is well)

OUT!!!!

I have to go back on Wednesday--throat docs. And Friday for neurologist (results of EEG).

The transportation costs are killing me. Taking cabs. Can't do the bus. Sigh.

Remembered a friend's birthday on the actual day. Remembered to worry about osso's eye surgery.

Must get busy on paperwork for another ooky financial matter. Can't remember where the papers are. I'll find 'em.

Frustrated, but hanging in.

@Roberta,
My total sympathy, Roberta. You know this visiting-the-hospital routine far too well & you know it's going to continue for quite a while yet. Yeah, it's probably mind numbing & tiring, but it's gotta be done. No choice.

I'm sorry you got your appointment day mixed up & wasted your precious time and your money. Especially when you have other important things you must do & money is short.

I so look forward to the day (and it's gonna come! Smile ) when you are free of this necessary grind.

In the meantime, Roberta, commiserations. Hang in there.

@Roberta,
Maybe it was a test. If you could cover that much territory in one day, you're good to go.

I wasted my time, olga, but not my money. I saw a doctor. Just not the one I thought I was going to see. Other than sleep and find the papers for the ooky financial matter, I have nothing else to do.

Good to go where, Roger?

@Roberta,
But I thought you said transport costs were prohibitive for you, Roberta? And that there was other (legal) work that needed doing?

@msolga,
Ah well, not to worry.

I just want things to be much better for you, that's all.

Taxi fares are high, but not a waste if I got to see a doctor. And, yes, I have to deal with some financial matters. But I have to find the papers first, and I have time. I'm hoping to work on them when my head is clearer.

I appreciate that you want things to be easier for me. I wouldn't mind that myself. The unpleasantness of today was my fault. I made a mistake about an appointment. I was fortunate that there was another appointment scheduled on the same day. Made the trip not a waste.

@Roberta,
Hey

just thinking about you and glad you got to see the derm doctor and all is well in that department.

'Nother appointment tomorrow with the throat doc, right?

Again on Friday...

seems neverending a?

Wish things were easier for you too, it's such a struggle and is all uphill.

How did it go with the therapist last time... did you manage to talk "out loud" - is she helping with how you are feeling, as in, understanding you?

@Izzie,
Seriously considering rescheduling my ENT appointment from tomorrow to next week. It's cold. It's raining. I'm eh.

Izzie, My therapist always helps me. I confess I don't understand what you mean by talk "out loud." Not gonna guess. I need a translation please.

Update: I got new info on the video. It's not about cutbacks in Medicaid. It's about cutbacks at Bellevue! Even better. We'll be recording either this Friday, next Tuesday, or next Friday. They're trying to work it in when I'll be at the hospital so I don't have to make a special trip.

I asked about the format. Will it be question and answer? She said not necessarily. It will start with questions just to get me going. I said, "Ask me a question, and then stand back." She laughed.

I asked if it mattered that my voice sounds like an emery board on gravel. Nope. That my head looks like someone is playing tic-tac-toe on my scalp. Nope.

I said that I go to Bellevue so often that I wish I lived closer. She said there's subsidized senior housing either being built or just up very near Bellevue. She's investigating for me.

She liked me. I'm beginning to detect a pattern here.

@Roberta,
Roberta you are sooo likeable -- but then I am not attracted to that ooey, gooey, overly-sweetened persona that some folk try to pass off as personality. You, Roberta, YOU've got personality! (Gosh, hope you take this as a compliment Embarrassed )

Re: the video, I expect you will be a force to be reckoned with -- er, a force with which to be reckoned.
