open-faced samwiches. Not the true samwich experience, but it may be the way to go.

Oy! Scandinavians everywhere are recoiling in horror. The only really good sandwich is an open face sandwich, unless it's a sammich - which means it has to have gravy on it.

(is any of the music hum-along-able?)

Off hold. Some of the music was not hummable--just pleasant. The Nutcracker Suite was eminently hummable. Problem: I can't hum. But I did move around a lot in my chair. Pictured the NY Ballet dancers on stage sugarplumming their way around.

The call went well!!! Major relief. Sighing big time.

Glad about the phone call..

but now you've gone and done it. I started looking up open faced sandwiches on google image and now I'm very hungry.
This one would not be to everyone's taste, but gives me ideas -

Ingredients
1 trout fillet, 300g, one big piece or 2 fillets
bay leaf , 3 peppercorns and a dash of white wine vinegar for poaching
1 bunch of watercress , roughly chopped (save some sprigs for serving)

Halleluljah.

I do hope, whatever the call was about, that some stress has been relieved.

Should the person who wrote that sentence resume work as an editor? Not ready yet. Embarrassed Embarrassed

osso, That picture reminds me of some of the gloriously divinely delish open-faced sandwiches I had when I was in Scandinavia.

The samwich I had tonight was nothing so glorious. It was two slices of white bread and thinly sliced turkey with faux Russian dressing. I cut the thing into quarters so I could get at the soft part of the bread from an angle. Ate it with little trouble. It hit the spot.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, you guys.

Just back from Bellevue. Saw my therapist. Finally, finally got the prescription problem straightened out (I think).

Now I can turn my worry focus to the absence of income. Oy.

I forgot to mention that I've been asked to participate in the creation of a video. I would be representing city hospital patients who've had problems with Medicaid. The purpose would be to present the video to state officials who are considering a reduction in benefits.

The head of the Cancer Center asked my therapist to present the question to me. Would I be too uncomfortable to do this on video? Uncomfortable? Are you kidding. I'm one of the biggest hams in Manhattan. Although the format would be question and answer, I'm already planning some of the things I will say. Bring 'em on.
