Then I'm a boy with no fashion sense. Maybe I shouldn't try to suggest anymore hat or hat based accessories. Neutral

Thanks for the congrats and the hat suggestions. Those would be too tight, but I like them anyway.

Edgar, I met Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, and Yogi Berra. Unfortunately, I was a teenage girl, and I giggled the whole time. I thought Mantle was cute, and I loved his gigantic, soaring home runs, some of which only just recently landed. Ah, the good old days.

Sorry for being so pithy. Some days you just don't feel like talking.

The social worker and the visiting nurse were here. My case is now closed, so I won't be seeing them again. The social worker put me in touch with an organization that may be able to help me with money (major worrying about this). He also arranged for a Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered here tomorrow. Happy about that.

The social worker at Bellevue is also trying to help.

I feel the same--fuzzy, sleepy, unfocused.

Hey, bethie. I wore the lime green hat yesterday. Vision unimpaired, but it looks goofier than the blue hat. I'm experimenting with some scarves. Hair fuzz has not yet covered the ooky parts. Scabbing is visible.

Going for an eeg next week. I see my therapist this Friday. Also gotta pick up a prescription.

Sigh.

A charity organization offered to deliver to my door a Thanksgiving dinner. There was one condition. I had to be available between 10 and 2 to receive the goodies. I agreed. Ten a.m. is early for me, but I figured it would be worth the free meal. I set my alarm clock.

The food never arrived. I called the place. Nobody was there. Very angry and disappointed. I snarled for a while. I decided to order a turkey dinner from a local diner. I've ordered from there many times before. Downside: I had to pay for it. The food arrived. I ate. Several hours later I started feeling sick to my stomach. I was up half the night running to the bathroom.

I had to get to the hospital on Friday to see my therapist. If I had to be there for that alone, I would have canceled, but I also had to pick up a prescription. I was all out of something that I cannot skip taking. Dragged my sorry self from the therapist's office to the pharmacy--about 7 miles. No long lines. Hallelujah. I get to the window and learn that there's a problem with my prescription. While I'm waiting, I feel myself fading. A patient at another window noticed and brought me a chair. Thank you other patient. You're a good kid. I finally get the problem resolved--temporarily--and leave. More than seven miles to the exit, including an up-ramp I almost couldn't negotiate.

I got to my neighborhood and had to stop at the drugstore and the supermarket. I was beyond exhausted. On my way out of the supermarket, I spotted the cutest dog I had ever seen. Honest. Not an exaggeration. Usually, when I see a cute dog (well, any dog) I smile and move on. I smiled, moved on, and went back. I talked to the two people with the dog--a teenaged girl and and old woman. They picked up the four-month old pomeranian puppy so that I could see her without having to bend down. I petted her. She licked me. I thanked the two people for lifting my spirits. I wished them a good weekend and went home. I smiled about that dog for a long time.

Not exactly sure why something like that could do so much to lift me. But it worked.

I hope that those of you who celebrated had a better holiday than I did.

Love dem dawgs.

Well, damn.

At least there was the pup.

So sorry you had a lousy day, Boida.

@dlowan,
Yes, not a wonderful thanksgiving day, Roberta.

I hope your stomach is much more settled now & that today is a vast improvement on yesterday!

@Roberta,
I can imagine that a four-month old Pomeranian would be a spirit-lifter. We played with a Pomeranian puppy a little while ago who was very sneezy. (Perhaps she was allergic to us?) She'd bounce around, then sneeze a tiny little puppy sneeze, then bounce some more and sneeze some more. Incredibly cute.

@Roberta,
Hey Boida... know you were looking forward to Thanksgiving, so sorry it wasn't one to be stored in the good memory banks. Glad someone helped you at the hospital and you made a new pooch friend.

Hoping your tummy has settled too now.

Talk as and when - nope, you don't have to be jolly.

Thinking of you goil x
