@Roberta,
Oh, even better news - tho 4 hours is still a long time - she's gonna be very tired. Hoping she will be able to get some help in the house if needed. If she's talking about food - well - YAY for her... this is good. Now if only we could get her some of her favourite tounge as a speical treat.

Hoping she will be out quick, but not too quick - hospitals given a cocoon of comfort - it gets a little shaky when your own.

Shelia, you're a star - do ask her noto to push herself too hard and come back when she's strong enough.

So looking forward to a kvetch - seriously - kvetch withdrawal is a serious problem on his thread. We know she's healthier when kvetching Razz

Please send her all my love - miss her heap bigtime. Izzie x

Thanku for the reports - hope you'll stick around A2K Shelia. x

Thank you for the update, Sheila. Having a headache seems almost normal
after them poking around there for 4 hours. Continued best wishes for
Roberta!

A headache?! Well, I would certainly think so!!! How would it be possible NOT to have a headache! Shocked Laughing

I find it absolutely amazing that they can do this kind of surgery at all. Just amazing. And here she is, two days later, sitting up, smiling, talking, watching TV... It's magic, that's what it is.

I think I'll have a few Oreos in celebration.

HOORAY for ROBERTA!!!

@Eva,
I'd think a headache would be, well, kinda de rigeur.

Can't find a good pic of my scarf online. My folks got it for me when they visited the old sod, and a claddagh pin.

@Roberta,
Quote:
Saw Roberta again this afternoon. Forget what I said about that 9 hour surgery. Evidently the nurse didn't know the whole story. Doctor told Roberta that the surgery itself only lasted 4 HOURS (still a long time.) Our friend has a headache, but was getting pain pills when I left. She's talking about getting food into the house for her discharge--but no word yet as to when that will be. Reading all your posts puts a big smile on her face. Thanks for the invitation to stick around. I just may do that.

I hope you do, Sheila. Smile
Are you able to access the internet at the hospital or are you taking notes on the comments & messages posted to Roberta?
Hearing about the big smile on her face just put a big one on mine. Very Happy
Please tell Roberta that there's been a "cat solidarity" movement happening here ... a number of folk adopting her avatar (or similar) in a display of support. Smile
It's good to hear this talk of food preparations. Her taste buds must be in fine form! (Taste (or lack of) was rather problem for a while there.)

Thanks again for keeping us informed, Shelia. It means a lot.

Keep up the good (recovering) work, Roberta! Hugs to you.

Adding more hugs for Roberta. And perhaps a tentative one for you too Sheila? (Not to encroach on your personal space, or anything, just a quick hug and release to thank you for keeping us informed. Please stick around!)

@Roberta,
Hello to Roberta and Sheila! that was a great update - food, thinking about food - that is encouraging.

Thomas is finally on his way back to the U.S. (never buy a Mercedes is this week's life lesson), bearing scarves, hats and hugs. I'm sure he would have transported <smooches> as well, but Set wasn't going for it.

Hi. Didn't get a chance to see Roberta today, but I talked with her on the phone. She wants me to tell you all hi. Headache is still there. In fact she said she has quite a bit of pain. Doctor mentioned her being discharged tomorrow, but the discussion was early morning--and the pain continued all day. Hope they don't rush her to leave. I'll keep you all posted. Sheila
