@Roberta,
Hey - seems like the taste buds are coming back into some kinda working order - grapefruit sounds delicious - yep, pink, definitely.

Do you think that the taste and the noive pain in the ears could be anything to do with one another. I dunno - could it be connected? As the nerves/taste buds start kicking in, the noives in the ear are affected... Have we got a doc aboard who knows about these things? How goes the ear pain?? Knees???

Slowly goes it Boida - but some kinda normal will return. Just wishing it would return a little speedier. Bit like a penguin tho... little steps a?

Any news on the woik front? Have you got energy enough or would that compromise any financial help you are getting - did the financials come thru? I hope so.

Sheesh... what is this - twenty questions... k....... zippin' the lip! Wink

@Izzie,
Izzie, I'm not an expert, but I doubt that nerves in my throat and ears are connected to taste buds in my mouth. Plus the taste buds aren't coming around. Things that tasted muddy a few weeks ago still taste muddy.

I wouldn't mind slow progress, but I seem to be going backwards. I could speak audibly a month ago. Now I can't.

I've had pain every single day for three months. It's taking a toll.

I put out the word that I could work. Not much in response. I'm doing one little proofreading job. I'm not sure that I could do much more, but I'd like to try. I had hoped to go for job training so that I could find some steady part-time work. Can't go on a job interview if I can't talk.

I don't believe that working would affect the organizations that might help me.

I'm in a snarly state of mind. (Money) Nuff said.

Haven't I had enough trouble with food lately. (I never claimed to be neat and pristine about it.) Sheesh!

@dlowan,
Uh oh. Didn't look closely at the picture. Too busy stuffing my face. Hare shmare. I can't taste anything anyway. Think of it as a short and bouncy gazelle.

On the other hand, oy and sorry. Embarrassed Pain in the ass as I am, I really don't chow down on friends. Let's face it. I'm impossible and out of control.

But lovable in an impossible and out of control sort of way.

Izzie, snarl away, kid. Just don't ingest any of the inhabitants. They're mighty touchy.

Deb, Furball. Is that what I've been choking on? Fie on you.

Thomas, I got your message. Please call me--and give me time to get to the phone.

Thomas reached me. Now he knows that when I say I can't talk, I mean I can't talk.

He did what others do. He heard me and wanted to hang up since it's obvious that I'm struggling to speak--to be audible. And as hard as it is for me to speak, I didn't want to hang up. I'm starved for conversation. Not being able to speak is enormously isolating. Phooey.

(nods) You're not kidding. You're practically inaudible over the phone. Nevertheless, it was good to talk.

@Thomas,
Still, it's good just to have some human contact. Sometimes a good listener is not what is needed.
