Kidz be kidz, Gozmo - there is no difference in need between the two groups of kids.

Yep, I can attest to that. Useta teach pre-school (1-1/2 to 6 years) then taught high school. High schoolers are taller, that's all.

In my (limited) experience, when it's a matter of helping troubled kids, the younger the better -- the younger they are when you get to them, the more hope there is.

Not sure if there is scads of difference between 0-12 and 0-18, though.

Most--not all, but most--Under-12's believe that adults know more than they do.

Many--not all, but many--12-to-18 year old kids think they know as much as any adult--and perhaps more.

Actually, there IS a difference - and I am a bit burned out by it.

Adolescents, bless 'em, who have been traumatised, tend to slash and mutilate and make frequent suicide attempts, or be suicidal for long periods, and generally have you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, sweating and sending your hair gray - because, as well as caring like hell about the little blighters, you know who will get the blame if one of them actually does it. Mostly, they don't want to - but they are always likely to kill themselves by accident, poor little things.

16 years of it (despite its rewards) has left me a husk of my former self!

Well, I need 4 weeks to finish up - and I asked for two weeks holiday - which their person said meant 8th August - but my arithmetic makes that 22nd August - finishing up old job on the 5th August.

They are giving me a half day a week to continue with the therapy training we are doing at the old job!!!
