@OmSigDAVID,
It's time for Gov. Corbett to retire if he signs this idiotic piece of legislation. What the hell is the rationale for giving the NRA legal status to challenge local municipal ordinances?

It is: to keep governments in-line
with obedience and submission to the Bill of Rights
.

Remember:
it is by crippling the jurisdiction of government
that America is a FREE COUNTRY.

the difference between you and me is that you want no government, I want a strong efficient small bore government. The government we have is cancerous, but surgery and some holistic ministering too is the cure, not death of the patient.

@OmSigDAVID,
If you don't mind, would you take this matter to your thread please, Omsig.

Please don't hijack this thread as well.

What made me smile this morning was an email from my dog walking friend who took a picture of my dog the other day as he sat with eyes closed and chin down, huddled against the sudden squall that hit us and disappeared within two minutes. The back end of hurricane godzilla or whatever it was called.
One minute we were all enjoying a windy but bright autumnal walk, the next we were soaked to the skin and laughing as we squelched our way home.

I want a strong efficient small bore government. . . .
U exaggerate my position, Hawkkeye.
I 'd love to be able to adopt a fully anarchistic stance,
but I must admit that government is good for co-ordinating wars
and a few other things. Accordingly, I will not advocate its abolition.

As I said in the piece that I posted: it is DEMOCRACY IN ACTION, Andy!

@OmSigDAVID,
Yes please.

I always flick through this thread hoping to read up on pleasant or amusing things that happen to fellow atookians. All the serious point scoring can be done somewhere else, hopefully.

Thank you for responding.

Even our lunch decision at the drive through at McD's is supposed to be a political action, so go figure.

Today, Governor Tom Corbett (R) signed into law House Bill 80,
the strongest firearms pre-emption statute in the country
,
at a public signing ceremony.

This critical pro-gun legislation strengthens the state firearms pre-emption statute
to further ensure that firearm and ammunition laws are consistent throughout Pennsylvania
and allows citizens to seek legal remedies against localities whose gun control ordinances exceed state law.
A much-needed protection for gun owners in the Keystone State, HB 80 will provide a way for gun owners
to hold municipalities accountable
and responsible for infringing on our Second Amendment rights.

After four years of hard work, your NRA thanks you for your active involvement and support on this issue.
Without your years of phone calls and e-mails to your state legislators, this legislation might never have become a reality.

[ All emfasis has been joyfully and lovingly added by David.
I AM the gun lobby (or part of it, anyway). ]

****************************************************************************

I think that the gun-freedom pre-emption statute
that we have here in Florida is even better,
the NRA's opinion to the contrary notwithstanding.

As I smile, my HEART and MIND are filled with JOY at the progressive defeat of gun control!!!!!
Watching gun control crumble into dust reminds me of watching the deaths of nazism and of communism!!!

Do u agree, Andy??????????

Allowing for a goodly amount of your hyperbole and exaggeration, I agree, in principle, that a relaxation of some gun-control laws is good.

OK, lemme press the point.

Do u agree, Andy, that the death penalty shud be applied to all crimes??
To be more specific, do U believe that
all convicted criminals shud be forced to play Russian Roulette??

(Note that I am opposed to that.)
