I just buried Wench

It wasn't the easiest thing I have ever done. That cat has been with me for fifteen years. Old age finally caught up to her and I watched her die a few hours ago. I guess I didn't think I would be that attached to an animal (go ahead.. insert jokes) but this cat was with me through thick and thin and to pick up her emaciated body and place it into a box and then into the ground was a little bit rough on me.

I don't think I will ever have another cat.

Maybe a snake or something; something cold and reptilian -- something that slithers and hisses and denies attachment.

Anyway, I just thought I would pass the news along to my fellow cat-lovers on A2K.

I am now off to place a stone on her grave and drink some whiskey.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Burying a pet is never easy.

Hey, gus, sorry to hear about your loss. It's amazing how we humans get attached to our animals. The only time we had one was many years ago when we had a dog, a golden retriever, and we had to give it away, because nobody took care of her. Even then, I still remember that dog often, and even use it as a password on many of my websites.

I remember burying my cat, Caribou. Obviously, there's part of me that still misses her...

I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about this, gus.

No whiskey here, but I'll raise my mug of hazelnut tea in honour of Wench.

Aw Gus that is tough. So sorry. There is nothing to say to relieve the sorrow of losing a beloved furry friend. I hope you will reconsider inviting another into your life after awhile though. When we had our last little dog put down a few years ago, my husband was so grief striken he vowed he would never have another. And we haven't.

I feel we are both missing out on a lot of pleasure though.

Sadness. Well, I once swore I would never have another cat, too, but within a month. . .
