I don't have any idea what will become of the country, it's culture(s), laws, government, etc... No earthly idea. I know how I want it to go, but I doubt that's how it will go. I can't even hazard a guess. There are just too many moving parts.

Predictions of this sort are always and inevitably based on the prognosticator's own hopes, fears and prejudices. They can never be quite accurate because the combination of possibilites is virtually infinite. Right now, for example, it looks to me like the end of the USA as a republic and the strong likelihood of its turning into a dictatorial world empire. But, rationally, I realize I think that way now only because Bush is in the White House. Another election or two and the whole process could be reversed. Any trend can be reversed. In the 1960s 'Conservative' was almost a dirty word. Everyone considered themselves 'Liberal.' The mood changed. 'Liberal' became a word used by Conservatives on the ascendant as a pejorative.

So, what's next? Damned if I have even the slightest idea. I don't even know for sure how today will turn out and end up.

I see a time when all bi-partisan bickering goes away and we enter a new era of true agape love and cooperation. We will put aside our petty differences and realize that we are all one race, the human race. The young will be protected, the old will be honored and cared for with dignity and our leaders will exercise their mandate to work for the people they have been elected to represent with transparency and altruism.

The lamb will lie down with the lion, and all will be peaceful.
