Roxxie, I have never been so proud of you and if you were here with me right now I would give you a good stiff drink and a couple of pills as a celebratory gesture. Afterwards, we could bang the night away.

Again.... congratulations!

What a very cute and cool response, Gus.

I am a little bit worried that some judgmental tightass might get all pissy about it, but I'm pretty sure Roxxxanne can handle a little joke.

Ha!

You look good and healthy Roxx. The hair is looking good.

Now comes the hard part; finding good new friends and new hobbies.

a sex and drug addiction!?! when you overcome this you will be a person to be reckoned with, a hero.

The great thing is that the fellowship of AA has allowed me to meet more new fiends and activities than I have time for. The hardest thing is all the dinner invitations since I am food addicted as well. But I have still manged to lose a few pounds and am only ten pounds from my lifetime goal.

Thanks to all for the support and wishes!

Kewl.

The fellowship in San Antonio was unlike anything I had ever experienced in nearly 16 years of sobriety. I am going to retire in San Antonio in part because of that extended 'family' there.

Keep doing what you're doing, Roxxanne.

Congrats. If I may, a question.

Can you describe the pressure you feel to remain sober? I've heard many descriptions in the past of recovering addicts and their desire to get better. One thing which I have always been curious about is what kinds of pressure exists to be sober and not let others down. My imagination leads me to believe it must be immense.

Cheers to your sucesses. Good will for our future challenges.

That's a great question as many feel pressure to remain sober for others, more so than themselves. One thing that I have been taught to do is that I am doing this for myself, not anyone else.

The last time I got drunk was 1996. I just don't like being drunk! Call me weird.

Re being able to continue weight loss.

Probably because you were consuming empty calories before, and are not getting better nutrition, with less calories.

Also, I'll bet you're being more active just doing everyday tasks.
