I am using photobucket and I edited my pics to make them
smaller in Photobucket BTW.
Hi Wandel, Glad you dropped by. You are not boring. If you were, we wouldn't have had any meets after the first one. LOL
Thanks CI. Great pics! I enjoy them very much :-D
Montana, I'm glad you asked to have a larger picture of that particular one, because I wanted to say something more about Merry Andrew. I wasn't sure whether he looked like Clifton Webb, dys or Dracula, but I'll bet anyone dollars to donuts that MA speaks more languages than any of his look-alikes. MA's other skill is his ability to remember a poem after one reading. It takes me at the very least 17 repeats, and we're talking short ones - like one liners!
Everyone there was so fascinating, it is a shame that we couldn't spend more time together in real life. Real life beats the internet by a long shot.
I wish I had gotten to converse further with everyone, as it was, Cyclo and his SO were so engaging, I am glad I got to spend some time getting to know them.
Yes, I guess I am quite a gentle lady in these settings but I have changed a lot since I got clean and sober, over 150 days now!
Roxxxanne, Congrats on the "clean and sober." Hold onto your success.

Same here CI. I suffer from can't remember ****

Hey Rox, congrats on your 150 days :-D
Keep up the good work girl ;-)
We had a wonderful time. I agree with George's assessment that people were not as far off from their online personas as you would think, but still surprising and quite entertaining in general, both individually and in the collective.
I would be more then willing to attend any and all such meetings in the future, and offer a hearty congratulations to CI and Georgeob1 for their success in setting the event up.
Cheers to you one and all

I agree re the a2kers I've met - every single one of them interesting people, including Wandel, or Wandy, as someone called him recently.
You're holding your own with the hilarious juggernaut of Jespah and Mame on the Adventure2Know thread....
I'm enjoying the photos. The yacht club isn't far from Crissy Field, where I once had the fun of walking Pacco. There was an old photo of Pacc and me there, back when the old a2k gallery was open. And the place where I've been to the SF photo show is also not far, over at Ft. Mason; the restaurant I mentioned I like was there, Greens - not so much for the food as the view for a woman alone who just bought a book or two at the good book store there... a good book and a glass of sauvignon blanc, the golden gate, excellent. Still, the yacht club was way better for the ability to hang out as a group - very good idea, and lovely of George.
I'm enjoying all of you, the venue, the views, and the length of time you got to talk - no big rush. Soooooooorry about the SFO snafus, plural, for CJane, how aggravating.
I'm actually so glad I did not come to this gathering, I would have only enjoyed sitting down with georgeob for coversation and it appears that noone was allowed to do that.
dys, That would have been difficult, because georgeob had Mame on one side and CJ on the other - and he was the one hanging on.
oh my gawd Dys you talk Irish Catholic? Does Diane know about this?
Long live the IRA.
He talks with me from time to time... which gives him some practice.
I think Bertoit Brecht and Kurt Weill invited Calamity Jane.

I really didn't notice anyone holding back Dys ! I have the perhaps bad habit of teasing people I like, and was surprised to be confronted with a storm of countermoves (less elegantly done of course). Could have used a little help - it was a tough crowd. Whose side would you have chosen?
Between Mame's Canadian "aboots", Francis' zingers (generally concealed beneath a veneer of Gallic amiability), jibes about Orangemen, and Calamity's outrage over the slightest adverse comment about San Diego (the hypocrite is really from La Jolla), there was plenty of distraction for all. Cicerone, however, was a model of friendly restraint and good stories of his many travels. Not at all the irritable critic he sometimes appears here.

The hell I was ! Had them both on the ropes right from the start.
What has happened to the fire-breathing Cicerone we know so well here ???
Hell, we're all amateurs !
