Cats can grow on you. A few years back I could have written the book "101 Ways to Kill a Cat"

A little stray black & white girl made me mend my ways. That was 15 years ago and she is still with us.

Something tells me the Prince would be a soft touch. He already has a very cat-like attitude, doesn't he?!

Yeah, I think a nice little Maine Coon should do the trick!

Oh, very pretty, Reyn! Very Happy I do believe ( I think?) our farmerman is in the market for one of those right now .... perhaps already has one? (Hint: Well, farmerman? Did you find what you were looking for? Tell, tell! We're waiting.....)
I can certainly see the prince, after a hard day of extraordinary wheeling & dealing in the corporate jungle, curling up with one of these ... dry martini in hand, patting his loyal Main Coon while dreaming of bigger & better financial conquests!

It's not that we HATE you, prince, as you believe ... Really, we LOVE you & wish to see you living a far superior lifestyle. And a good cat is absolutely essential to achieve this! Haven't you never asked yourself why all of us are so fulfilled? Razz

Very Happy

himself wasn't a cat lover when we married - he was sunk when we took in our first little stray and by the time we were on our third he was completely and utterly under her paw Very Happy and besotted.

Very Happy

Well Vivien, if such an initially cat-resistant person as himself can become truly smitten, there's hope for the prince, I'd say. I can't imagine why he's resisting the inevitable, really. Confused

Oh no, dear Prince. You have it all wrong. We're not a bit angry with you! We love you! <purr, purr>

You truly do have the most cat-like personality I've ever seen in a human being. The royal bearing, the preening, the sly wink, the utter confidence that you know best, the affectionate nature, the competitive spirit, etc. etc. I could go on all day. Sometimes I could swear you're really a cat pretending to be human, though of course a cat would never lower itself to that level. But if one did....no doubt it would fashion itself a Prince.

When I first met my husband, I discovered that he did not like cats...he even got upset in the early years when I brought home a new kitten. However, as time went by, he became greatly attached to them. Since then, four cats have come and gone...and he still speaks very fondly of them all Very Happy

So it is the women which are forcing the men to like cats.

Since I wont let a woman influence me in this way - I should be safe

Right now, the Prince resembles nothing so much as a tomcat with its ears laid back, eyes slightly narrowed, flicking its tail in irritation.
