Yes, that's probably what he is saying. And I am a bad cat mom and will leave them again Monday and Tuesday and then Monday to Wednesday the week after that. Well, BigDice will have to make up for me!

I just put in a couple of new pictures in my online album: Cat Gallery

I hope you like them Laughing

I feel terrible.

Since I'm moving in with my family in Dec, I decided to put a collar on my cat. I'm afraid my family will leave the door open one day thinking it's okay to fetch the groceries and my little kitty will JET! She's never done this the weekends she's stayed there the past year, but I love her too much to see her lost and never returned.

Anyways, so I put a collar on her with I.D. tag today. Poor thing is pissed off at me. Of course she will get over it, but she's acting like there's a snake around her neck.

What's worse is, she likes to sneak behind the blinds so she can see at the window and while walking past the blinds, they catch onto her collar trapping her there and pulling her by the neck. I'm so paranoid.

I DID get the kind that falls off automatically (if pulled a lot), but when she's sad - I'm sad.

/end of rant

Jo, I know exactly how you feel, I would feel the same way.

I'm sure you've talked to your family about your concerns, so I won't go there ... I'm also sure you're feeling they're not used to pets around the house and will forget to be careful of leaving doors and windows open.

Would it be possible to leave your kitty in your room while you're not home? Would she freak out?

Good luck with this dilemma, and keep us posted?

Hugs, Jen

Hi Misti!

To be completely honest, it's not while I'm GONE I'm worried about but it's while I'm there!!! I hate being "the nag," but quite frankly, I can be one. I just don't feel they're being careful enough sometimes when they open the door WIDE open.

I tell them, the cat does not run out when I'm there, but cats tend to take advantage of OTHER opportunities (people they don't see as their owner).

You can't just open the door and turn your back without knowing where the cat is ....juuuuuusssssst in case. Of course they think I'm too paranoid, but I've heard a million and one stories from folks about how their cat ran out when they had someone babysit.

It stunk having to get a collar NOT because she hates it, BUT it makes me depressed thinking of her getting out. Where I am now it's okay b/c we live upstairs and she never leaves the patio (b/c of the stairs), but who knows if she'd run when a STRANGER tries chasing her.

hopefully this will never be an issue. Smile

Well, I can't have a cat but the lady that rents her home from us called and asked if I would let her keep her mom's cat. She signed a lease that included a clause about no pets, but she knows I'm a softie and she's being so good to take the cat, it was her mom's pet and her mom died recently. I'm looking forward to seeing it, a little orange kitty that she says she's going to rename Pumpkin. Cute!

ARRRGG!
I am at home trying to write out bills, papers spread out all over my too small desk and my three kitties are being true cats. My chubby little girl, Nugget, has spread her bulk out on top of my check book and pen and is nuzzling my hand for a pet. Tabby is crawling across my art table and is scattering papers that are probably still wet with paint, and Whisper is climbing on top of my man's computers to get to my windowsill and knock down my little glass trinkets I have stubbornly kept there.

::SIGH::

I love my kitties but I HAVE to get this done so I had to shoo them all out and close the door. Now they are all scratching and meowing at the door wondering why I am being such a mean mama.

It's enough to make a girl cry.

Sorry, just had to do a quick sob story...back to bills.

Aldistar, my kitties do the same thing ... why is that? I think it is really cute, most of the time, but there are other times when I have to have a good chat with them!!!

We were visiting a cousin in Oregon and Mr.P was trying to peruse the morning newspaper. Her cat sized up the situation and then plopped right down on the editorial page, rolled over on his back and pawed at Mr.P's beard. Very amusing. (He says he doesn't much like cats, but I think he was charmed by the attention.)

Told a co-worker tonight that I was looking for a place of my own to solve our 'one-pet limit per condo' problem.....and she immediately asked if I would adopt her kitten until.....

I'm going to have enough trouble finding a place that will accept a pet and I'm already getting requests for pet-sitting! Jeezopete!

Evil or Very Mad Look after your own critter, Rae! I once had a (very nice) woman at the vet's approach me coz' she was leaving the country and was wanting a new home for her cat. This was after she consoled me about having to put down my much-loved Mozzie. I think she knew a soft touch when she saw one. As much as I sympathized with her plight, it just wasn't a fair thing to ask ... especially at a time like that.

You are absolutely right, Olga. I've learned a lot of lessons recently about trusting people.....don't get me started!

It's just me, my son and Lacey the incredible kitty! What a trio! Razz

Just a few.....by invitation only.....Sir Paddy the Supreme Cat being tops on the list!

Even though he's 'Mom's cat', he still loves me.....In addition to my day job, I've worked the last three nights at my second job.....Sir Paddy let it be known that he was very happy to have me home tonight ~ just a lingering brush-up against my leg and time for a quick rub-down against his spine and he was happy.....Warm fuzzies are great.....but they're especially great when they come from cats!
