Is roger in FLA again?

Screech is as tricky as ever. His insulin isn't sufficient and I will probably have to switch him over to a different type. Which will mean weeks of tweaking the dosage to get it just right and that means weekly vet visits. He's playful and sweet as ever thugh - what a guy!

Thanks for asking MsOlga.

He was sitting on me in the middle of the night, and when I tried to shift him, he decided to hang on. So I've got a couple of claw marks around my mouth!

Yowza!

How old is Screech now? Looks as though you've done an amazing job of keeping him in one piece for a long time now. Good for you! Very Happy

Dangit! He just turned 10 and I didn't throw him a party. He's been diabetic for over 2 years. Thanks MsOlga, I do try. These animals! Even the vets shake their heads and exclaim on my bad luck. Little do they know how awsome my little critters are - bad luck? i don't think so.

Quick, a belated party!!! Very Happy Fancy Feast for everyone! Laughing
I can relate to the vet shaking head bit .... A very regular Olga experience with Flatty!
But you're right, the pleasure of our critters' company far outweighs the hassle!

Not now. I was in Florida in April of both 2003 & '04. Ol' Paddy was downright amiable.

A clawed face does absolutely nothing for my appearance.

He's been pretty good since, but, as it gets colder here (and my house isn't heated), he's insistent on sleeping on / by me at night. I see more fights coming!

I'm always amazed at how quickly he knows he's done wrong - and how he feels he has to redeem himself! Laughing

Great storage idea for small spaces! Idea
But that might work with a smallish cat but many of our regulars here are, erm, on the large-ish size.

Oh dear how are the battle scars Margo? I love Possum tales, what a character!

Our cats have never needed folding up to get into sweater drawers - they are perfectly capable of doing it for themselves and moulting all over the clean sweaters Confused lovely cartoon though Very Happy

I.m off to find Rosie and see if i can get a cuddle ....

Laughing Evil or Very Mad

I'm recovering and Poss is still wary!

I had a late night last night (well - late for me - I'm a social newt!). I got to bed about 1.30am. The fact that I'm up and posting this at 7am on a Sunday morning is a pretty good demonstration of Possum-power.

At 5am he decided it was time to get up! He started talking, and then brought in his stuffed cow toy for me to play with. Then he started patting my eyelids, to make me open them. Then the odd bit of clawing and talking (and muffled rude words from me - with head under covers!).

I got up about 5.30am, fed him and opened the cat door, so he could go outside. And went back to bed!

Not good enough! Shocked After about 10 minutes, he's back in, hollering. Get up! Then, the claws come under the bedclothes, looking for tender parts of my anatomy. Push him off and yell at him a couple of times, doze off again. So he knocks things off my bedside table, and then goes out to the linen press - in the hallway, and starts banging against the door!

I hang in, as long as possible, but finally succumb, about 6.30am. I lumber towards the kitchen, to make a cup of tea, and there's much talking. Apparently, he didn't get enough breakfast, and a cat could starve in this house. This is despite the fact that there is still food there.

Anything for a quite time! Ha! I give him a few more cat pellets, and look at taking my cup of tea back to bed. Wrong again!

So, here I am, tired, hung over, grumpy, at the computer earlier than I want to be, and where's Possum??? Outside in the bloody yard, that's where - his job is done!

as i said .... what a character! Laughing

I wish Rosie would talk more. She still rarely miaows and certainly doesn't have much of a repertoire - we have to read body language - including the nips for bad behaviour. Swearing she is good at, sadly.

Himself picked her up this morning when she was busy with other things (mainly stalking a pidgeon outside - it is nearly as big as her and i have visions of it flying away with her aboard) - he got a long harangue of bad language before he had the sense to put her down - just before the teeth were engaged.

Is this particular picture of Possum designed to show us the teeth and gain extra sympathy? they certainly look sharp! Confused

Margo - your story had me laughing tears. What a riot! I mean, what a wicked little kitty.

I watched a movie about, in part, bengal tigers. It's amazing how their expressions are so similar to housecats'.

Like Misti, I haven't been around for quite some time. Busy at work and away from home...

Nisse and Mysan are fine and we had a very cuddly Sunday afternoon today. I was gone for three days and missed them so much! But - I went to Kaiserslautern to visit my friend Nicole. And that does not mean I can sleep for at least one night without being awakened by a bored cat. Oh no! Nicole shares her place with Cooky, Muffin and Schira. And they think that 5 am is a great time to get up and feed them.

Nicole just moved to this appartment and it is still under construction, more or less. So during the day strange people are there making a lot of noise and bringing in smelly things like fresh paint. Of course the three cats are scared to death. So they have to make that up at night. I feel really sorry for the three kitties and hope that things will be back to normal soon. Cooky is using the flower pots and a sink as a toilet... The poor thing!

So today I am enjoying the company of Nisse and Mysan before leaving for another three days early tomorrow morning. I will miss them! Oh, and I miss BigDice, too, of course...

The stuffed cow was one of his first toys, when he was just home as a kitten. As soon as he was big enough, he started to carry it around in his mouth. He regularly brings it in, if I'm having a restless night. But then, he claws me until I play with it!

I usually move when he starts on the linen press. Failure to respond within the approved time means the contents of the 2 shelves of the linen press that he can reach, get hauled out and sit in the middle of the hall floor! At least I usually have a tidy linen press! Confused
