Margo, I just talked to my friend Nicole on the phone and told her about your short night. We are actually glad to hear that it's not just us... Yes, our cats rule our lives...

Hi Gang, Nothing much to report in the Mikey department. There's been much busyness here. Lots of comings and goings. Lots of activity. And the monster cat? Hiding in the closet. When the activity got too close to the closet, he hid under the bed. This was a bit of a shock. He hasn't been able to fit under there in years. I guess if there's a will, there's a way.

Now that things have calmed down, he's reverting to his old self. Bit me twice yesterday. Wrestled with a role of paper towels. (The towels lost.) Woke me up today with a combination of unpleasant noises and pushing. Same old, same old.

Hi Everybody. I was going to post this under "What made me smile today" but figured it was most appropriate here, with all of you.
My cat Sammy is my A2K companion, she sits on the desk (actually lies on the desk spread out from ears to tail  ) while I read.
Today, I noticed her (after I had been reading for about 20 minutes) sitting almost at attention, staring at me, quietly. I immediately scratched her and pet her lovingly nose to nose. She then licked my forehead in the most tender manner. It almost felt like she was saying in her way, "I love you."
Have a good week everybody and best to your furballs. Smile

Mikey Update: I was playing cards at Yahoo. Mikey was messing around with the keyboard, as he often does. He often hits keys, but yesterday he sent a message. Take a look at your number keypad. The message to my opponent was +69.

Get your goofy, polydactyl paws off the keyboard, Mikey.

I was woken in the wee small hours this morning by a DRENCHED cat trying to get under the bedcovers for warmth. Shocked I had to get out of bed & dry him off with a towel. What the hell had be been up to?

Hmmmmmmmm, maybe. It had been raining pretty heavily. Maybe he's just not used to it?

Nah, apart from being cold, he thought it was pretty good! In fact he just did it again just now (about 1:30 pm). Maybe he's discovered a more efficient way to wash? Or maybe just enjoying the novelty?

Oh, I see! So, has the drought broken? Or is it too premature to say?

Yay! And we've finally gotten some sun. We're down-right soggy.

Back to cats?

I arrived home late for Mr Screecher-pants' dinner and he let me know about it. My housemate was having a dinner party, which he would normally be all over, but when I walked in he meowed at me until I looked him in the eye and said hello. Then he let up.
