New cats around! My friend Nicole - who lives with three cats - spent her vacation at a hazienda in Spain. And came back with a little black cat - who is pregnant. So now Nicole's boyfriend has a cat, the little black one - her ex-husband will soon have one or two kittens - her colleague will soon have a kitten. Don't you think they are lucky? By the way - Nicole's cats can be seen here: Nicole's cats

And my sister gets regular visits from a little tiger. He comes in the cat door in the basement, goes to the kitchen go eat (and fight with Hexe from time to time), then he leaves through the cat door in the basement. I think Hexe is getting used to him...

Don't talk to me about cats! It is only five am - and I was woken by being run over by a bunch of claws and yowls - they having decided it was just the time for a game of chasey!

(It is summer, and HOT - there was nothing between me and the claws...)

Poor Deb!!! I know so very well what you are talking about.

Margo - great idea! But in summer let them wear sandals.

They'd probably want those heavy Birkenstocks - and that's pose a different problem.
Good to see you back, Urs - I was wondering whathad happened to you! Wink

You can get little plastic claw covers for the beasties... the company sez:
Quote:
These unique claw covers are applied directly to your cat's nails to cover the sharp points. They will not interfere with the normal extension or retraction of the claws, but will protect your furniture or person from the damage usually inflicted by sharp claws.

To use you simply trim the nail, fill cap 1/3 full of adhesive, slide onto nail, and wait a few minutes.

Sounds simple to me... ever read that old joke about how to give a cat a pill?

LOL! I could prolly do it - but it is not generally necessary. Not sure if they have 'em in Oz - I just trim the claws usually.

Sure, Wy. A motionless cat for 3 minutes while the glue on 18 claw covers sets up.

Yes, I did hear the joke.

Hi Margo,

Well, I guess I was sitting at the computer too much at work. Just could not take it in the evening. But I will have lots of free time during my Christmas vacation :-)
