I dunno either, Roger, but doubt it is the same. It must be a similar virus induced immune deficiency syndrome though..

Last week was Luckys first birthday. This was A cat We saved freom a building that we were going to implode for philadewlphia. Lucky is fine but, because she was so starved when we found her, she hasnt grown very large so shes an example of feline neotony. Very freiendly cat who loves to purr and just nuts around . SHe would rather eat kibbles put in an upside down dish in a box than eat soft food on a plate. I think she just likes to play with food , and canned food doesnt roll around

Diane, yes, get a kitten! It will make you feel so much better.
We got our cats exactly three years ago today. I cannot imagine how I ever lived without them. At the moment, Nisse is curled up in my lap and purrs like crazy. So cute!

Unfortunately, I also have some bad news. For those of you who saw my photos on www.picturetrail.com, you saw my sister's cat Tiger. Cute little Tiger was hit by a car four weeks ago. His mother Hexe misses him. The neighbour's cat sits in my sister's garden waiting for his friend Tiger.
And once again I am glad that Nisse and Mysan do not leave the appartment!

Sorry about Tiger and Tillie. It is so upsetting i know.
feline HIV and leukemia are separate illnesses and feline HIV is a different strain from the human one.
Soz - say no thanks to that babysitting!

Olga, Is it contagious in the way that human HIV is? Does it progress to AIDS the way human HIV can?
The important thing is that Flattie is doing well. Give him a chin chuck for me, will you?

To tell the truth I have spent so much time, effort & $$$ in having Flatty's ailments treat over the past few weeks I haven't had the time to fully research the disease. It really concerns me, though & I will have to put a lot of thought into his future.
Luckily he doesn't venture out of the house much these days, as his health improves.

Commiserations upon the passing of Tiger.
I, however, could cheerfully wish Oscar a speedy defenestration today...I woke to the charming sight of a pooh trail on my bedroom carpet - courtesy, no doubt, of a troubling doubt that his bottom was quite clean. It was by the end of the trail.
I cleaned it up.
I arrived home this afternoon to the joyous sight of three little deposits of sick in roughly the same spot.
One of them had a furball in it.
I cleaned them up.
An AIBO is looking good....

our Casey did that
she was also incapable of learning that you could 'go' in the garden - she'd be out for ages, come in to use her litter tray - and go back out
Rosie had better learn .....
i'm typing this one handed again as she's finished gnawing me and gone to slee p in my arms:D

Mine go and chew their grass from the pot on the balcony - and come IN to chuck it up.
Lucky they are cute.

A happy (belated) Thanksgiving day to all you fuzzy feline critters in the US of A! (It takes us a while to catch up on these things in Oz.)
A big smooch to you all! <smooch, smooch>
Did you receive any special treats to celebrate the big day? Did you feel extra special? How did you celebrate? Do tell!

Well, Flatty's stitches have been removed. Currently no ailments or afflictions! At last, a little peace! Please. please may this last a while! An ailment-free Christmas would be the very best present I could receive.
Hiya Olga, Things have been a bit hectic here. You asked about special treats on Thanksgiving. Am I too late to report? She brought me some turkey. I don't know from where. Don't much care. But it was good. Hey, lady, bring me some more!!!
