Lately when Tommy comes in beat up from a fight, he crawls off into a corner and sleeps for about three days. Then he's good as new and is his old self again.

I work offshore Saturdays through Wednesdays, so I wont see him again for a few days.

Does this happen often, Jim?
Can't be good for him, poor thing. Has be been de-sexed?

He was fixed before we adopted him.

I'd guess he comes in all beat up about once a week or ten days - but this was the first time I'd seen the fight going on.

Ah, I can relate to that, Jim! I also adopted one with those tendencies. Much as I love him, he's been a constant source of worry, say nothing of a constant source of many expensive vet bills, to repair the damage from his encounters! Things are improving but he's a wee bit of a slow learner, though! Rolling Eyes

msolga I'm so sorry about Flattie - you made the right decision to try to help - i hope everything goes ok and the sneezes stop so that they can do a biopsy.

Rosie was poorly at the weekend and when we went to the vet she had a very high temperature - fine now though and on antibiotics. She's busy biting the edges of some of my drawings - they have rows of little puncture holes along the edge now Rolling Eyes

MsOlga - how's it going? Sorry to have missed this crises when it started. My dog gets tumors, we have them taken out. How is Flattie?

Slappy. In context, seriously not funny. (In another context, maybe.)

I'm sorry to hear about all these feline problems. I hope all the fuzzy ones are on the mend.

I dropped in to relate the latest Mikey nutsiness. I found him trying to eat my computer. Not nibbling. Trying to take big chunks out of the hard drive. Gnawing. Part of the case came off. What next? Dunno. Dun wanna.

I hate to get on the defensive, but do not get a flat screen monitor. That soft screen is way too tempting. For what is is worth, my computer resides in a hardboard box of my own creation, mostly to avoid the temptation of all those dangling wires. I created this when it became apparant that Barney wasn't working as an office cat and would have to come home. The wires from the computer to the monitor/surge protecter are tightly bundled together and wrapped with some spiral wound plastic crap from Radio Shack.

Mikey has no idea how lucky he is in choice of owners.

Roger, I have infinite patience for animals and old folks. And precious little for anyone else.

Mikey had to be kept away from my old printer. He liked to sit on top of it. He's a big boy. He did it once too often and the table the printer was on came crashing down. I caught it before it hit the floor. I got another table and always kept things on top of the printer to keep Mikey away. He took to using the printer as a scratching post. No, there's nothing for him to get a grip on, but that wasn't much of a deterent.

Pussycats! Can't live with 'em; can't live with 'em.

A friend had a cat that used to sleep on the monitor. We suspected it was because of the warmth. He didn't try to eat it though.

Msolga, this is the first time I've been to this thread and here I am, almost in tears over Flattie. He is lucky to have a mommy like you. I wish we all could give you a real hug.

{{{{{{{{{{ msolga }}}}}}}}}}

I can't imagine life without pets or a kitchen without the warmth of a cat curled up on a chair watching as dinner is prepared.

Hi everyone. Lost my cat of 18 years last summer. I really miss him. I have another cat now and he likes to sit on the computer mouse while I'm trying to operate it.
