I tried waxing our cat once, but he was too afraid of the rotating disk.

That's a very expensive treatment, k. Gosh. Surprised
But, like I said before, he's looking just great!

Flatty photographs? Maybe not too long away. I recently purchased a little digital camera. Now I'll I have to do is the necessary homework! Laughing

Too funny, I'm actually a customer of the company in the embedded link on my previous post. Now, that's targeted marketing!

Up & down. On medication more often than not, unfortunately. But there's no choice in that. I'm just grateful that I have a very good & obliging vet. I can ring him any time for advice, when I need it, or am worried about some development, in between visits. No problems. But overall, Flatty's OK, considering his condition. I had my first BBQ last night & he disgraced himself by hanging around & scoring lots of little gifts of food. Shameless! Laughing Today (oppressively hot & windy) he's decided to hang out in my bedroom wardrobe for the duration. I feel really sorry for animals in this sort of weather. Sad

Regarding the photographs. I'm sure I will ... eventually. First I need to overcome my procrastination problems.

MsOlga, sounds like he's got a fantastic caretaker. So, did the BBQ go well?

CJ - for the last time, no one is waxing their pussy.

well, not to bring the room down but someone shot our Lucky . Ive got the culprits and were prosecuting
Weve got only one inside cat now the little Coon from Calais we call Cally Cat.
She has yet to meow and has this otherworldly stare. But she follows everyone around , and likes people. Most people who say they "hate cats" are more unsure whether the cat will like THEM. With cally, she will come up to a stranger and sit beside them. Yesterday a guy from NFIB stopped by and Cally sat beside him and he admitted that he didnt like cats but that this one seemed like it would be friendly. He admitted it was HIM and not the cat.

We miss Lucky though, her Back story was one of going from a trashed out building to a nice home where she moved in and took over. We took our Xmas tree down when she got shot because she would climb in the tree and play with the ornaments and this just broke our hearts seeing the tree without these little golden eyes peering out at you.Weve had lots of pets die from old age (we usually have a menagerie of dogs cats, and chickens besides the livestock) We just never had one shot before and we are not quick to forgive the "hunters" who go about and just shoot anything for the thrill of the kill. I have no idea whats missing in their lives.

I'd read about that Farmer. I loath the hunters who did that to Lucky. Please keep us informed about your lawsuit. What charges are you pressing?

Failing the lawsuit, there is an alternative called "High Justice".

I think you're missing part of the point Farmerman. When those folks shot your cat, they weren't "hunting", it was, unfortunately, just target practice, or a failure to identify the target. If they hurt or killed a person, I'd have a lot more sympathy. I am sorry you lost your cat. But your suit seems frivolous.

Teaching hunting ethics is part of the process of raising the next generation of hunters. We want to make a good impression, especially when we are "borrowing" someone elses land.

At the same time, many hunters feel that cats, being non-native to north America, are disruptive non-selective predators that affect local wildlife populations. I can understand their argument, especially when they've spent good sums of money on land to hunt on. Keep your cat in the house.

I think I mentioned this before. Our cat, Louis, while living in urban California, managed to catch two young squirrels just out of the next. The second one he eviscerated but didn't kill (he was pretty mad when I finished off his "toy").

I like to hunt partridge. Just one cat, wild or domestic, hunting on my seven acres would destroy any grouse population.

CJ - you're saying that it was ok that they shot his cat on his own property after he had allowed them to hunt on it? Are you farking serious ya nut?

I'm not 100% sure of the specifics. If I had people hunting on my land, I wouldn't let my animals or kids be out running around.

I was with my Dad once when he shot a cat. We both thought it was a rabbit, as it was in a remote and very wild part of Michigan. Damn thing had long ears and canines about 1/2" long, yet it was a cat - just a very wild one.

I told him, he shot it, he had to eat it. Wink

I told you some of the specifics. Farmerman can tell you more. I think that was perhaps your most insensitive post ever. And, you've had some doozies.

How was it insensitive? I am entitled to an opinion. I expressed sympathy for the loss of his pet, it shouldn't have happened - for several reasons, at least one of which was his own responsibility. I'm fairly certain the hunter is upset over killing someone's pet. An apology and having to live with that knowledge is all that is needed.

Of course you're entitled to an opinion. We're entitled to think it your most insensitive post yet.
