Well, good luck, Foxy.
I wish I had some useful solutions for you.
2 beautiful cats Foxy, I hope you work out a solution.
Maybe put the litter tray in the bath for a while? and water in the sink as you already did.
Foxy, beautiful pictures!
Paddy is behaving himself lately, ever since Lacey visited a few weeks ago. As I told you, he was very mean to her, a right bully he was!
He's laying next to my chair on the floor, waiting for me to get off the computer, he doesn't like it when I'm on, it takes away from His Highness!
I wish I could let him outside the screened porch as Vivien does, but I wouldn't take a chance, the old biddies around her would call the pet catcher and I would be fined. Sometimes I feel guilty about keeping him in the house and porch, but it's for his own good.
I think even if I left the door open, he wouldn't go out.
msolga, Oy. A mouse/rat?! Feh.
Here's a poem I wrote on a similar subject:
Mikey's big and Mikey's strong.
He's got lots of feline potential.
But I'm sad to say that Mikey's flawed.
The problem is rodential.
He catches mice,
Then lets them go.
This makes my temples throb.
Cuz catching mice and keeping them
Is his one and only job.
So get your fuzzy butt to work,
You little feline creep.
Catch those mice,
And don't let them go.
At least try to earn your keep.
Okay, that's out of my system. I'm sympathetic.
Foxy, Ozzie is gorgeous. Lush looking. I have no idea what to tell you about the bathtub problem. I think that keeping water in the tub is a terrific idea. When I first got Mikey, he took a shine to my plants. I put tape over the pots so that he couldn't get into them. He eventually gave up. I don't remember how long it took before he turned his attentions elsewhere. Asking the vet isn't a bad idea.
I've also heard of spray things that are repellants to cats. Don't know if you'd want to spray them in your bathtub. Good luck with this.
Foxy, I mentioned your problem with Ozzie to a friend. She told me about a person named Warren Eckstein, who has an advice show on local radio (WOR). I wouldn't be surprised if he has a Web site. You might want to Google him. (BTW, the advice he offers relates to pet problems.)
Thanks Roberta, I've found the site
http://warreneckstein.com/ and will have a look on it!
Great! I hope it helps. Please let us know. If the advice is good, maybe ole Warren can tell me how to get Mikey to stop attacking me.
Sigh. I think, Foxy, that they just like the whole idea of the "hole", I assune she does it over the hole?
Several of mine have shown a penchant for that.
Shower, bath, but never laundry tub!
I think you may just have to keep water in them for a long time.
And, when you dare to try without, leave some disinfectant or cleaning spray in the bottom of the tub etc.
Gotta tell you this. I stopped in the Pet Ranch this evening, they have a cat there, he belongs there, and to the owner. This cat is human, I swear.
He's all white, except for his nose ... he's about a year old. He was laying on a shelf, I stroked his head, he put his paw on my shoulder, then came in my arms, and laid his head on my other shoulder! I almost kidnapped him at once, just beautiful!
His name is Romeo, appropriately so!

No, she does it at the opposite end of the bath!
I loved the Mikey poem, Roberta! I have the same problem: Flatty is useless! The only solution was to get the mouse/rat out of the house. Otherwise he would have chased it all over the house!
Better to get the damn rodent OUT! I'm still shuddering.
That's funny, Walter! I didn't know Bob Dylan was a cat person.
msolga, I'm shuddering with you--sympathy shudders. I'm irrationally and insanely afraid of mice. Can't even contemplate a rat (thud). (Glad you liked the poem.)
<shudder> This was no ordinary mouse, Roberta! I was BIG!
And it was galloping!
Well, I did a really good deed yesterday.
I was about my usual meter reading duties in the rural areas of my routes. I was on this one address, going down the driveway, when I noticed something in a cage on the other side of this fence in a field. Upon closer examination, it was a black and white cat trapped in this long cage. It was the type used to trap animals with one door at one end.
I knew no one was home here, so I hopped the fence, opened up the door, tipped one end, and out kitty came.
It didn't look like a feral cat, as it's coat looked in pretty good shape.
I have no idea if whomever set the trap what they were trying to catch. Either way, I'm sure I let loose one appreciative cat.
Saw this, thought you all would have to see it too.
Who's the boss?

Reading your cat-mouse stories I remembered the cover of book.
