Lucky Kitty Survives Jolt, Fire, Fall
GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A stalking foray atop a power pole left a lucky feline jolted, frizzled and dazed but otherwise OK after he fell off the 40-foot pole and sparked a fire outside a fire house

aaaaah, Lacey the guard cat - the mind boggles!
I couldn't have asked for a better 'guard cat'! Lacey has proven herself to be an awesome informant! And heaven forbid if I don't take her claims seriously ~ heads would roll!
I picked up new treats for the guard today ~ 'Aquar!Yums' ~ and she has already decided that the container needs to be visible to her at all times! Highly recommended treat!
Humpf! That Comet of Panzada looks remarkably like Little Cat that gets fed outside the door. The problem with this critter is getting the food into the right mouth. I do not want the Roger residence looking like a feline John 3:16 Mission.
Great name 'Aquar!Yums'. Sounds almost as toney as the BubbleYum brand of bubblegum.
That's great, Aquiunk. Just drop into the fire house and say "Hey guys! I brought you some business."

Good grief, poor cat!
I do hope a good home is found for it. After surviving all that, poor puss deserves a quiet, contented life!
We had some lovely breezes and showers the last couple of days, compliments of Hurricane Katrina ... wouldn't you think Paddy, His Highness would just LOVE being outside? Nada ..... he's afraid of the wind now ... he's such a scaredy cat, hehe!
I watched him tonight and was intrigued ... he was outside on the porch, there was a bird about 5 feet away perched on a rock ... Paddy was yacking at the bird, but the bird stood his ground, stared Paddy down.
Later, the bird was outside the screened porch, just sitting, minding his own business. Paddy was inside the sliding glass doors, just sitting, looking at our bird, not even wagging his tail.
It was almost like ... hey, there you are, I was wondering where you were. Nice to see you again:)
I think neither one are afraid of each other now, they shall go on!
When I installed my new adsl connection Sophie helped out.
gf
Sophie is obviously related to my late, much missed, Ms Mozzie. Also to Neko Nomad's beautiful tabby in the US. The spitting image! (What a strange coincidence! Three of us with identical critters! This particular variety of tabby is extremely rare! )
Cats and kids - give them a cardboard box or paper bag and they're happy as can be. Who needs real presents?
She is a bit older now msolga, but still a very pretty cat. Yes her markings are unusual.
She was pleased to see me when I returned from Canada.
Friend of mine got a new television, this was years ago. We took the large box, and cut "doors" and "windows" from the sides, and reversed it on the floor of the living room in a corner. The cats went crazy. First they'd run in the "house" and look out of all the windows--round-eyed with wonder. Then they'd run out to look in all of the windows. Then they took turns, one going in to look out at the other, who would sit outside and look in. They were fascinated for literally hours, and very excited.
That's your bag, just unpacked from Canada, gf? Did you ever wonder why (of all the places the cat COULD sleep) they choose your clothes? Because they smell of you & that makes your cat happy! Isn't that nice?
(Too bad about all the cat fur all over you, next time you leave the house, though ...
)
lololol msolga you're right! Hair there and everywhere......

Hard to know who has the most fun in these situations, Setanta. The cats going nutsy with all the fun, or the folk who are watching! I like watching my cat go through his "wild, windy day" back yard frolics. Absolutely crazy stuff!

I have (sort of) learned to live with this affliction ... it being in a good cause & all ... But, sometimes cruel people stare!
gf your cat is gorgeous.
Ours love cardboard boxes as well Setanta - it doesn't do wonders for the designer decor though
Rosie also has a passion for large handbags and big black bin bags when I'm sorting out stuff to bin.
Have finally got Paddy a collar with a bell (none of the ones in the supermarket had bells) - himself is out so when he gets back
he can put it on Paddy. I'm already out of favour for telling him off over the last bird. He holds a grudge like a real Celt!
I'll bet Paddy's a real glamour puss these days, Vivien.
He's be just about fully grown, yes? Any recent photographs?
I tried to put a bell on my Paddy, he was miserable ... so I gave in:)
