The funny thing is, he actually has birthday parties for his critters. Yes, real critter birthday parties, run by his good self!

Yes, Roger, after berating yet another victim for less than perfect care of their cat/dog: "The itching problem is without a doubt FLEAS, madam! YOU need to do something about this immediately!" Dr Hugh will go all gooey, talking of one his critter's birthday parties. He's SO anticipating a good time for all!
He's one of those (almost?) eccentric people who is terribly unforgiving (unless speaking to a child) of human silliness/ignorance/ cruelty to their animal charges.

woken up in the early hours again by a little perisher walking up and down me in bed, purring loudly and miaowing for someone to GET UP and LET HIM OUT

It was Roger who suggested that cats think we're gods (because we feed them!), Vivien. Me, I'm not so certain. Mind you, I wouldn't say no to a bit of gratitude & adoration, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it! :wink:

The Battle For the Pillow? Very quiet last night due to it being a fraction warmer. When it's REALLY cold I don't stand a chance of winning! Actually, it's the top of my head he's after, I think, it being quite warm! A good thing to sleep on!

Any new photographs of your critters, Vivien? I would love to see how "the little perisher" has progressed. And the beautiful Rosie, too, of course!

updated pics of Rosie and Paddy follow - I have been trying and trying to get some pictures of them playing in the sunshine but they move so fast that the digital camera is just too slow

so the pictures aren't particulary interesting I'm afraid but were taken a few minutes ago

it's cool but sunny and they are loving it - I've been busy putting some new plants in and putting out some of the annuals in the chimney pots

The kitties are just gorgeous Vivien, Rosie has grown quite a bit, and what a face she has!

Lacey was here for the weekend, I didn't see much of her because she was out on the porch most of the time. When Rae came today she called "c'mon Lacey" ... when Lacey saw her she turned and ran like a bat out of hell! We chased her all around the porch, then she got away and ran behind my bed, easy for a cat to do but quite difficult for a human because I have a platform bed and there's very little room in order to grab her. Rae finally pulled her out and as she was carrying her through the living room, Lacey made a violent jump out of her arms and she was gone again! Eventually Rae caught her, but it sure wasn't easy.

Poor little tyke, I felt so bad for her!

Prayers please that Rae will find an apartment with a porch, for Lacey!
