Gus will do anything for a buck.
927. Years ago, I had a sideline, making plywood cut-outs for holidays and also for daycare centers.
928. I thought someone would like the idea of making plywood cutouts of comic strips. This was my one and only effort, because nobody got excited about the prospect, and some didn't even understand the picture on this one.

Yeah, I've seen this done before. Nice idea. Make any money at it?
The first two years, I made good money. Then, everybody and their uncle copycatted my endeavor, and I didn't make too much after that.
Isn't that always the way?
My wife and I can remember the day when craft fairs in December was a rariety and one could actually make some money doing crafty type stuff.
Nowadays, they're a dime a dozen, and everybody's looking for bargain prices, not making it even worth while.
I have thoughts of setting up a shop in the back yard, from which to produce various wood items, including furniture and a few plywood items. As for peddling them, haven't decided the best method.
Sounds like a potential nice idea. You're handy with your hands. Marketing can be the tough part of the equation though.
The area abounds with small shops that would willingly sell on consignment. There are a few flea markets. In the old days, I got out along hwy 249 near Cutten Road to sell them. Things have changed, since then. That spot's a regular highway. Anyway, some of my pieces will be too large to tote around like that. I could at first have a few garage sales, but, I don't think I'm in the right neighborhood. We shall see. It's about six months to a year in the future.
929. With Baby the dog, in a happier time.

So, this is potentially a post-retirement money-maker then? Being your own boss is always a preferred choice, if possible.
I think I could make some pretty good money. I have lots of ideas.

I would be hesitant to add anything electrical. People who make mistakes and have accidents will want to blame me.
Hmm.... low voltage? solar powered?

The reality is on the way, just waiting in the wings, for after I quit such a strenuous job.
