Ever notice that coffee in a tinted cup, preferably brown, tastes so much better than it does in an otherwise identical cup, particularly a white one? I don't know how to describe the brown on this cup, except that it is not leather brown, but a warmer shade. The times I drink from the white cups it is okay, but not truly satisfying.
I haven't mentioned our neighborhood criminals lately. Not many days ago, when I was working on my back door, two different times I saw them walk up to their own fence and look to see what I was doing. It made me nervous. I called Uhaul and asked them if the truck these clowns were driving could perchance be stolen. Sure enough, the truck and at least one of them are now gone. It makes me worry, having this so near, but I guess we will get through it.

My computer now has spunk. I came into a few extra dollars and bought Iola's System Mechanic. It's taken me all day to get it going, but the result is, the PC seems to be better and faster than the day I bought it. I don't regret spending my windfall for something I use so much.
@edgarblythe,
A better working machine also helped my game scores get a little higher. Next week will tell the tale.
@cicerone imposter,
It helps me by doing what I intend now, instead of weakly responding to my moves.
Finally, I get some nice weather and time off from working, simultaneously. Was too tired today to get much done, but I set up some material for my Indian on a horse project. I decided to try making a back for the fence boards, of plywood painted black. This should keep the smallest parts from dropping off.
Spent much of the day being pals with Rocky. I set up my wood project, but did not cut anything. The parts are to be patterns for duplicates, so I opted to let it lie fallow another day, just in case I thought of something previously overlooked.
I waited until nine this morning to set off for Lowes. to get jigsaw blades and other necessities. Didn't get far before traffic stalled and could not seem to get started again. So I circled to the highway that intersects where Lowes is located, to approach from that direction. But the traffic became snarled there, too. It's all tied in with the Grand Parkway construction. They are putting an overpass at the first street and digging a tunnel at the other. Turned around and went to the Home Depot near Tomball. After nearly two hours I got home to find I bought the wrong jigsaw blades. Eventually, I got to work and cut out my fence board pattern pieces. They looked alright to me, when I laid them out on the porch. Tomorrow I want to cut pieces to make ten of these things. I sure hope I am not wasting my time.
My body demanded rest, today. I walked around the yard with Rocky a few times, did the dishes and cleaned in the bathroom, but mostly lazed around. We ate at the cafeteria this evening.
My youngest grandson will be four this weekend. Smart as a whip. Another one of my grandsons is also very smart, but, when he was little like that, he had trouble with some words. He would call a truck a ****. It was sometimes embarrassing for his parents and trucks were among his favorite toys. I miss having youngsters around me.
Speaking of grandkids, a granddaughter that lives near Denver sent us a letter this past December. But the post office could not deliver it for some reason. We got it today, in a different envelope than the original. Very sweet, very grown up, compared to when we last saw her.
I laid out the pieces of my Indian on a horse for mrs edgarblythe. It was not the best vantage point from which to judge, admittedly, but she did not recognize that the thing on top of the horse was the Indian. For that kind of art, if you have to explain it, there is something wrong with it. I will need to see what I can do during the week.
My computer works wonderfully well, now, except the provider connection keeps fading. I get better than dial up, but not one hell of a lot better. Nothing I can do, but live with it, for now.
Sometimes it seems the singers of the national anthem at big events just want to see how loud they can holler.
