Edgar, anon99 just provided a glorious example of what not to do if you are trying to hold someone's interest. Sometimes boring people can provide the spark for inspiration, even when they try not to be boring or trite.

When I first got Rocky, he was trying to attack my circular saw. Then, all the other things I mentioned. The first time he saw my lawn mower in action, he came up so fast that he was able to grab the piece where the clippings are expelled and drag it several inches. I built an enclosure to use my saws and drills out of his reach. I carry a five foot long stick to ward him off from the mower. His previous owner must have taught him the meaning of a stick, because it doesn't take much of a demonstration to back him off.

What kind of dog is Rocky? I had a Springer Spaniel named Max and he would try to tear up the vacuum cleaner, he was nuts.

Rocky is half Shepherd, half Lab. Probably Chocolate Lab, judging by eye color. He too is nuts. If it was not for the fence, he would get killed, chasing the traffic. He particularly gets in a frenzy when trucks pulling trailers go by.

Well I personally believe there is nothing wrong with being a boring individual.

I would not hold someone's beliefs against them. It's not my nature. Even if they're evil. I believe everyone is their own person and has the right to choose to be who they want to be.

Boring is subjective. Things that do not bore me drive some people nuts. My younger life was a world of boredom. I learned to live with it.

Easter was at one time a fun day. But, with the children grown and moved away, its just another Sunday. This year, we get a little reprieve. We will drive to one of the daughters homes for dinner. I have a three year old grand son there. I hope they don't serve okra.
