I have to turn off news shows when they get a relative or friend and cram a mike in their face. "How does that make you feel?' "Er -" "Does it make you sad?" "Um -" "Does it make you angry?" "I, uh -" "What would you like to tell the perpetrator?" "Not to, ah, do that anymore." "A friend/relative of the victim. Back to you at the studio."

My knees are slowly getting better after the pool light episode. All the digging made them stiff.

Beautiful day. Doing spring style cleaning. So, it's only beautiful outside.

The Texas legislature has pretty much wrapped up its work. Now it's just waiting for Perry's pen point. Ouch.

Don't thank me for serving in the military. It was expected of me. I got out just as soon as I could.

@edgarblythe,
We've actually had a beautiful day here in the UK - wow, what a difference a day can make! Birds singing, colourful summer clothes, flowers blooming - it takes just a few hours of sunshine to make everything and everybody come alive.

Well, it's going to be hot and breezy. There ought to be plenty of work orders after the long week end. "The sun is out, The sky is blue" - Beatles earworm.

I built my back porch to have both privacy and ventilation. Realized lots of space was being wasted and put a clothes closet in one corner. Then my regret over doing away with the bath tub and having just a shower entered into it. Yep. There is plenty of room to put a bathtub there and I am going to do it. The shower stall was of inferior quality. After the tub is proven to be a good idea I plan to take out the shower and put in a new one. No missed bathing opportunities.

@edgarblythe,
Raining here today - still quite mild though, so not too bad.

Great to be able to do practical things like put a bath in! My husband goes pale at the sound of the words "DIY"!

@vonny,
I was not born handy. It took many tribulations before I was able to DIY.

Good to hear that you didn't do your birthing yourself.

@edgarblythe,
Neither do I ed. I can't understand blokes who participate in the process. It's often the first chance a chap gets of not worrying about what time he comes home.

Let the professionals do it. I can wait until it is wrapped and brought out by a nurse.

I knew the work orders would be coming fast and tough. Tomorrow I got to put a refrigerator up the stairs, install an A/C condenser and possibly a dishwasher. In my spare time I plan to take it easy. I'm sitting here with my first cup of tea from moringa flowers. I possibly made it wrong, but I put them in hot water and allowed them to steep a while, then upped the temp to about boiling before pouring some. It's fine, but not delicious in the way some other teas are. I will look up a few recipes later on.

I got so busy yesterday I could not adhere to my regular health routines. Today I plan to keep aware and not let it go.

Was watching through the kitchen window a mockingbird helping its young to fly. These birds aggravate the hell out of people but I enjoy them just the same. I've been sprucing up the front yard some, but I still have to use rocks, artfully placed, to keep Punky the dog from digging up the new plants. Still have to get mulch and perhaps gravel for the beds. The roses have taken new root pretty well after I moved them and most have a few flowers.

@edgarblythe,
Ahh.. Nature, is beautiful to watch and we always learn something new.. Or see something, we have never seen before.

And, seeing roses bloom - bit by, bit.... amazing...

Were you drinking a tea whilst looking out onto that? First thing in the morning Smile

It was already dark out when I had the tea. I had been at the kitchen window earlier, possibly cleaning out the dog's water bowl in the sink. I keep her water indoors to keep mosquitoes from getting access.

@edgarblythe,
We have a plague of midges in the garden at the moment. There were two fine days - Sunday and Monday - and that bit of sun, with the damp of yesterday, brought the midges out in force. With the bad winter and long cold spring, everything is late this year - flowers, shrubs, birds nesting - it's all been delayed by a month or more!

Our summer came late. April was extremely cool. Now we sit at 90 in the afternoon. Rain is a sometime thing from about now through the season, unless tropical storms target here. I have 19 sixty foot tall pine trees that worry me in rough weather. If I could I would have all removed.

The air conditioner I replaced today was a different story than the average A/C story. Just before the present resident moved in there, the apartment could not cool below eighty degrees. The then lead maintenance replaced the A/C. Still, the woman has been complaining ever since. We have tweaked the unit repeatedly. The other day, the manager and I decided to replace it with the next larger condenser. The inside coil would not be a problem, because it is already that size coil. Only thing is to change the piston. Well, I removed the old unit and decided it could be installed as a downstairs unit one day. Once I put the new one on the pad, I discovered that the big line coming through the bricks was bent so severely that it had to constrict the flow of freon. Knocked out a brick and cut that piece out. I think that was the problem with it the whole time. Anyway, it is performing like a champ.
