@spendius,
It all runs in cycles. In the mid 60s, topless bars were as plentiful in California as 7-11s. That moderated some. TV shows like NYPD Blue made it a point to display naked asses and tits. The Superbowl nip slip was mild compared to things they got away with back then. Today the shows display sexy bodies on air TV without actually showing that much. But some shows are non stop and explicit in the sex talk. Two and a Half Men and Two Broke Girls are among the worst.

@edgarblythe,
"Two Broke Girls" eh. That sounds interesting.

Read Jane Austen for the inside track on that.

You know, Ed, there is a very simple way to escape the vacuousness that is TV, especially American TV.

You own a shotgun, do you not?

American TV is just one big "scott's turf builder" lawn.

Putting in that pool light was a true test of tenacity. At first the old underground wire, a hundred feet of it, refused to budge. I got it to move by fastening the end to a wrecking bar and using it as a lever to force the line. After I got it to budge, my young assistant seized the bar and very quickly broke the cable. We dug up four feet of pipe to get the end of it again. Then we realized that the connect of new and old lines made a bulge that could not glide through the hole. After going in for a few feet it hung up, repeatedly. After several abortive tries we got the lines right and the new line slid all the way through. The fixture had to be experimented with to get it to sit in the cup just right and I had to buy an assortment of screws to get one to hold it in place. Then I wired the photocell wrong. I had not changed one in so long I had forgotten that the red wire connects to the fixture's black wire. I had put it with the ground wires. This took us fully half a day, of digging and figuring. But, we are back in business.

I stood in the water to wrestle the fixture more than a couple of times. Got really muddy at the other end.

@edgarblythe,
Why don't you tell the owners that swimming in the dark is sexy?

@spendius,
There is a law against having a commercial pool with no light.

If a child sinks in a dark pool, no one is going to miss him/her for too long a time.

@edgarblythe,
Just read about the flood in San Antonio.

My wife, son and I had dinner in San Antonio after our Houston Meet.

Not many brave enough to do what always seems to be on your mind in a public pool, Spendius.

@cicerone imposter,
I remember. San Antonio floods lots of times, but this time is extreme even for them.
