@spendius,
My post about guns made specifically for five year olds (that range) and one five year old who shot his sister is what started this exchange. If you were referencing someone older, you should have specified, spendi.

Animals -
I opened the pool filter and found a living spider in there. No telling how long it survived under water.
Found an incapacitated bird by a sidewalk that is frequented by several cats. Don't know the breed. It was black with a shiny green head. The bird was extremely alert and it tried to flee. I scooped it into a have-a-heart trap and took it home, because I couldn't find anybody willing to treat it. Ultimately, I put it in the back yard, in a spot my dog could not access, with plenty of weeds to hide in. It was gone next morning.
The geese on the road home have taken to strolling over the pavement, oblivious to the traffic. I have yet to see feathers strewn about.

My friend returned home after two months in rehab. His neighbor has been hired to assist him. She is like a mother hen - Hope he doesn't regret coming back. Smile

Happy Cinco.

I realized there is room in the new porch to frame in a closet. Since we never have enough hanging space, I will Insulate and make it weatherproof. I might not can afford to line it with cedar, but cedar can be incorporated into it to a lesser extent.

In the meantime, I need somebody to cut the back yard. Okay. I volunteer.

@edgarblythe,
Quit collecting so much junk~! You're going to regret it later on in life when sentiment has overtaken your common sense in the collection of things nobody else will want.

We're trying to unload stuff now so we can move to a two bedroom condo at a retirement community in a few years. We've been working on it for over two years, but it doesn't seem like we've even made a dent.

The curse of accumulation!

@cicerone imposter,
mrs edgarblythe does the collecting. I simply look for places to cram it all.

@cicerone imposter,
I plan to go through a few cabinets with some very large trash bags. But I want to be home alone when it's done.

@edgarblythe,
Understood. Laughing

I'm having our son come home from Austin this summer to clean out his "junk." If he doesn't clean it out and doesn't identify what he wants to keep, it goes into the trash bin.

Cool mornings persist. But that's okay. We will sweat in the afternoon. This is one of the best Mays on record, for our part of the nation.

I have taken to buying frozen berries, because fresh ones don't last the entire week. Mainly I worry about mold. They taste all right the way I prepare them.

I have built up some piles of waste material to dispose of, in the back yard. Fence wire, construction materials and such. Need to tote it to work, a bit at a time and feed it all to the dumpsters.

Just saw a rundown of Great Gatsby movies. I hadn't known there were so many.

The season ender of The Mentalist gave us the faces of seven men, one of whom is Red John. One of the faces is the character I predicted to be him two or three years ago.

The story of the missing girls found in Ohio is absolutely stunning. Joe posted a link on the Oddities and Humor thread. If it can be imagined some human will try it is all I can post.

That's considered a form of low risk theft here ed.

At our prices (industrial) it is £16 a week for 110 litres.

@spendius,
I have worked there over twenty years, without taking advantage of these people in ways that others have. Had I chosen to live on the property I would have filled many dumpsters more than I have proposed to do.

@edgarblythe,
It's the BIG problem actually ed. "Everybody does it" got into the banking system. It's into sport with the drugs.

I must have done what you're proposing to do hundreds of times.

The waste of civilisation is a very interesting subject.

Try doing a Jane Austen type treatment of a social network centred around a large waste processing plant. You can't be forever not choosing a subject for an extended piece of composition.

@spendius,
I haven't explained fully the relationship between myself and the job I hold. I may throw my junk in the dumpster, but I reciprocate other ways. I sometimes come over on my own time Saturdays and do work. I brought over some of my jasmine ground cover plants when needed. I recently spent $16 for a sprinkler line connection. In short, they get back as much as I take.

@edgarblythe,
Having read a lot of your comments over the last few years...

... But ... are they aware of those deeds? In other words, should you be observed by powers-that-be when you discard a bunch of your stuff in their dumpsters would they be aware of these other deeds and be OK with it? Assuming they could figure out where the discard came from wasn't from their property.

(Not picking up on any of Spendius' comments.)

@Ragman,
The manager and her faithful companion, the leaser, are aware. I am rather certain they mention it to the owners. I think the boss is okay with me using the dumpsters anyway, because I have never abused their use. Meaning, I pick the best times to use them, not when they are full or near full.
