Looks like you're doing beautifully, blacksmithn. Hope that the appt. today will yield some answers, if only that "it could be this, this, or this, let's schedule tests to find out which one."

I'd be happy if we could narrow it down to a "this or that". At least we'd have some idea of what we're dealing with while we're waiting for the test results.

Wow... that smooth line of yours (putting her hand over your heart...) is a real swooner. The best part is you truly meant it.

My thoughts are with your wife today... hope all will be well.

It wasn't just a line. I've never been so happy or until now, so alarmed.

Today, I'll be home before her. I plan on having some beautiful flowers, a nice bottle of wine (or champagne if the news is really good) and a lovely candlelit dinner ready for her when she gets there-- I figure that whatever the outcome, we'll both want a little quiet together time.

Doing SOMETHING makes me feel better. Less helpless. Dammit, us guys are SUPPOSED to be able to FIX things and I can't fix this.

Your plan for the day sounds great, Blacksmithn. I hope it is a bottle of champagne for you both.

I'm hoping you get to hoist the champagne as well, blacksmithn.

This is the first I've heard of this, but it's probably just as well. My presence on this thread would probably have caused you more consternation than you are going through already.

Good luck, my metal-shaping brother, and say hi to the wife.

Don't be silly, gus. You never fail to tickle my funny bone, but thank you for the kind thoughts.

blacksmithn, don't be surprised if the outcome of today's visit is a schedule for more visits. It's unlikely that she will have any kind of definitive diagnosis from a first visit unless they are also planning on including radiological tests at this visit.

I hope the neurologist is able to give you some positive feedback, and I think this is the right direction vs the OBGYN, but it might take some time before you know exactly what is happening.

Best wishes to both of you. I'll sit and wait with you no matter how long it takes.

Great News!!!! The neurologist says that the symptoms she describes are all related to a combination of her migraine headaches and recurring sinus infections, exacerbated by the prescription given for her allergies (yeah, I know. Her head's a mess. After all she married me, didn't she?). He scheduled an MRI just to be sure and we have to wait on insurance approval for that, but you'd better believe that there was much celebrating at our house last night! We both feel like two tons of lead have just been lifted off our shoulders. Whew!!!

Thank you folks, one and all for your kind words of sympathy and support. My wife thanks you too. You helped me make it through a very difficult few days.

Oh, geez, that is wonderful, just wonderful.

And she was savvy to pick the specialist that fit the question, to act on the concern, and you two are savvy to do all of this together. Salute'..

This was one reason I was feeling bereft when A2K was down, I really wanted to know what happened there.

Sounds encouraging!

Blacksmithn--

Glad to hear the good news--and that the neurologist may be able to do something about migraines as well.

Hold your dominion.
