And what do you conclude from this, other than the fact that they need to tighten security? That it is all a diabolical scheme by the Bush family to get rich or some other conspiratorial theory?

So, basically, defending a weak, fledgling democracy against barbarians, for the sake of all the good, decent folk there strikes you as idiotic.

Or perhaps that feckless nation-building for the profit of a few of one's cronies is a bad idea...

The immense respect liberals have for promoting world democracy is very much in evidence.

It'd be nice if promoting democracy through violence showed some sign of working.

Besides, I thought the only reason to invade Iraq was the possibility of WMD. Are you changing your tune?

Why did you not include this report?

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia has delivered new anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran and will consider further requests by Tehran for defensive weapons, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Tuesday.

"We have supplied the modern short-range anti-aircraft systems TOR-M1 in accordance with our contracts," Ivanov told reporters. "Iran is not under sanctions and if it wants to buy defensive ... equipment for its armed forces then why not?"

A defense ministry source later told Reuters deliveries of hardware under the $1 billion deal, which has been criticised by the West, have not yet been completed.

No. WMD is why we invaded. Trying to leave Iraqi in some kind of decent shape is why we are staying.

The fact that a person can admit they invaded for WMD's that were, from Jesus george's own lips, (finally) never there.... and still support the war.... is the best argument for euthenasia I've ever heard.....

Looks like the enemy gets it's hardware from many places.

Once again, just TRY to tell the WHOLE STORY.

True, Iran and other countries who are US enemies get their weapons from lots of places. But those countries are not going around calling them axis of evil all the while giving them weapons. It is shocking that we give weapons to Iran and now we are comtemplating going to war with them, it just makes no sense.

One difference is we sell to "middle-men". Which tells me that we need to do a better job of knowing "who" the customer is.

Russia seems to be selling direct.

Neither is good.
