@cicerone imposter,

FACT: Obama is lying his ass off in an effort to force Obamacare down our throats.

QUESTION: Why? Why is Obama telling so many lies?

@cicerone imposter,

Why do you think Obama is not being forthcoming about Obamacare?

@H2O MAN,
Ask him that. The health care plan is still in the planning stages, and Obama has not really involved himself with this process. We still don't know how the final product will look like, but there are enough questions to be asked before the final product is produced. That's what I'm trying to do.

I don't come to half-cocked conclusions until I see the final product; but I question what is said by Obama and what FACTCHECK was able to challenge. Nothing more, nothing less.

Obamacare hasn't seen the light of day, and you have already come to conclusions - like okie and other MACs-conservatives on a2k.

CLUE: Your crystal ball is broken.

I asked you that question after you made the point that Obama needed to more forthcoming.

Do you remember making this point?

@H2O MAN,

Fair enough, but I think I see a problem. Once we see the final product, it is often a done deal. As for watching the progress, there are so many changes and false starts, it is hard to know what exactly is in the works. This might be accidental, but it does inhibit our challenges.

It would really have been best if the health care and other bills had been written by Obama and staff, and presented to congress. It would at least be easier to assign responsibility for a bad bill. Right now, I get the feeling Obama will have something he can sign, with some disclaimer about it being not quite right, but better than nothing.

@roger,
Isn't that how most legislation in congress works? It's called "compromise."

@cicerone imposter,
Yes, that's how most legislation works.

No, it's called obfuscation. Obfuscate being pretty much to opposite of clarify.

@roger,
"Obfuscation" is a tool of all politicians. Name me one politician who doesn't obfuscate? If you are not aware of this simple fact, you are in fact dumber than most.

Obfuscation doesn't fall into "illegal."

@cicerone imposter,
Not illegal, and you can't say I stated or implied it was. Can you tell me it's the transparancy we were led to expect with this "beyond partisanship" administration?

but, roger, the thing about bi-partisan is that both parties have to be actively involved in a positive way. i don't think i've heard a single republican come out and say anything good about anything during even one of their little press thingies at the capitol.

mostly they've just been griping and walking out.

@roger,
There's no way to have "bi-partisanship" when the republicans always just say "no" and don't provide solutions to any of our current problems. All they do is complain. How do you expect partisanship from this group of republicans?

Please show us the way.

@cicerone imposter,
You keep saying this, but I only see them saying no to the the public option and mandatory coverage.

They have ideas for cost reduction (TORT reform, making it easier for small business to join into a group, expanding healthcare spending accounts).

They have ideas for increased coverage (further tax incentives for individuals and businesses).

Just because you don't like their ideas doesn't mean that they don't exist.

@maporsche,
You start off with
Quote:
to the the public option and mandatory coverage

This is supposed to be a "universal" health plan. Can you explain to me how it will be "universal" without having a public option and mandatory coverage?

Starting out with a "no" is the plan killer.

@cicerone imposter,
The democrats, and Obama, and I want a Universal health plan. Are the republicans required to agree?

There can be healthcare reform and cost reduction w/o a UHP can't there?

@maporsche,
Sure, but the conservatives are trying to play both sides of the road; they say the democrats aren't being cooperative while they say "no" to what this whole plan is supposed to be about; universal coverage. Can "you" deal with anyone who says 'no' up front, then tells you you're not fair because you fail to listen to them? They're playing their usual political games that conservatives worship and love.

They want Obama to fail on this health plan, because that's the biggie for this president, and that'll open the door for the republicans in 2010.
