The lake picture didn't turn out so well... too low to see the lake.
We did see one of the albino squirrels for which Austin is known.
Cool!
Plus, the capitol building is neat..
Great pic of the Capitol Building, DD.

You are too modest. Good work in all of them.
You got the lake from a squirrel's eye view.
Good photos, Rocky liked that, I can notice.
Good evening/night to you, osso!
Alas, I'm not sleepy yet - but don't want to read anything too complicated...
... well, ts, ts, in that case you really shouldn't have come on this thread
I can handle pictorial, she says, starting to snore...
Albino squirrels are common in Austin?
I have only seen one and I thought I was special for that.
It was in Pease park and Ian, Jillian and I were having lunch with corn chips. I truly think he heard the crunching because he came right up to the edge of the concrete table and stared at us.
So, I got Jillian down on her knees ( wich.. was HARD.. she wanted so bad to grab that little cute 'sirrell' ) and we both held out chips.
Of course, the little guy came to my hand first because I was the stillest.. but she called him 'scary'
I was telling her how , just like her friends skin and hair were all different colors, so were little animals. And he was just white.
But I was reeeeeeeelllling inside wishing I had my camera because I thought I was one of the only people to see one in the city.
(sigh)
Now, im off to hunt for another little white rat. HA
The International Albino Squirrel Preservation Society even has its headquarters in Austin
Embarassing!!!!
Shows you how little I know about my own city. HA
Started off with one albino squirrel at UT (University of Texas). Turned out that being albino is a preferred survival characteristic down on campus, and more of 'em started popping up.
Awesome pictures, DrewDad, thanks! (I like the squirrel's-eye view one, too...)
How's Rocky doing meanwhile?
I have Marty's address; will ship Rocky tomorrow.
Rocky made it to Seattle today! Tomorrow we'll go check out a light house and a ferry boat and this weekend we're going downtown to see the spaceneedle. I'll try to upload some pictures this weekend.
