My friend has been hospitalized after a trip to the ER revealed a strange infection (not contagious), but the cause of great interest in the hospital. She'll be released in a day or two. She's been told that she will need a visiting nurse to administer IV fluids (antibiotics) for about two months--at first on a daily basis.

Quote:
The 44-year-old man recently traveled to Africa, where he bought animal hides and took them back to New York City to make drums, the department said.

The man, who plays native African music, complained of flu-like symptoms before collapsing last week at the end of the Kotchegna Dance Company show at Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, sources said.

Go ahead, "Roberta", endangering 8 million lives because some criminal lunatic is your friend. If anything more contemptible has ever been posted here I'm fortunate in not having read it.

Conspiracy to commit a crime is a federal offense for the presumed do-gooders piling on to help a mass poisoner - and anyone who questions THAT better look up what kind of " a strange infection (not contagious), but the cause of great interest in the hospital" requires 2-month-long DAILY visits by nurses for intraveinous injections.

Whoa! There are many, many different causes and sources of infection. Most are not contagious. If Roberta's friend has a septic strep or staph infection then the home treatment is definitely warranted. We have a regular poster here (well, he isn't so regular any more because he's busy playing video games) who has repeated episodes of septic infections requiring home IV and visits from home health personnel for months on end.

High Seas, I think you've made an inaccurate connection.

Certainly there are "many kinds of infections" - what is this, kindergarten drill? - but few, very few, infections require intraveinous administration of antibiotics via drip for MONTHS and fewer still of that subset require that the existing neighbors not be notified of the hospitalization.

I'm not in the habit of repeating statements mindlessly: if that's "out of line" here, so be it - but every word of my original warning stands.

I know Roberta and i swear she associates with well known carriers of african diseases as well she is known to eat in Italian resturants. Also, she is a jewess. I once sat across from her while I was eating meatloaf with a side of smashed taters and gravy and she smirked at me. Her friends are no better than she is.

High Seas is an occasional visitor at the LoLathams.

Her air of 'heightened urgency', well, I'm sure Noddy's witnessed it in person. In fact, I'm sure (click) of it.

French?

Is that how you describe her posts?

As in "pardon my French" when one has sworn inappropriately?
