Funny story, Stradee.....

Hump Day! Great- and only 2 more days to term break.

On the other hand a sad day. The dog my kids grew up with ( not ours) is going to die. He is 18 years old and now very sick.

Term break next week, eh? Lucky you. We don't get one until the third week in February but I'm already looking forward to it. (But I shouldn't be envious. I have a touch of the flu that's been going around so I'm taking some sick time the rest of this week.)

For two days my deer herd has been in the front yard in the wee hours of the morning. My outside alarm just sits on the porch and watches them.

Thanx for the valuable advice, Dannon. So happens I am wearing long johns from L.L. Bean. I'll try to remember the advice about scarf and covering my head -- two things I usually forget.

A new visitor though - a large hawk. The animal appeared a week ago - perched on the electric utility poll it sat, said a few hawk things, flew away, only to return daily.
The finch feeders may be attracting the animal. The good news is, the feeders are in a protected area of the house where predator birds don't have enough room for swooping. Bella and her mom had a runin with a hawk when Bella was younger - the hawk lost the battle - but the cats, except for Bell, don't seem concerned with the new visitor. Odd

perhaps the hawk was stalking Stradee when she went outdoors on three occasions...and the reason why she didn't respond to my calls {very unusual for Stradee}

I bought two pair of L.L. Beans hiking pants. I put a pair on daily for two hours and hike to the kitchen and back. Not working so far. :wink:
