@Region Philbis,
Hey, that's pretty. How I envy you from warm, sunny New Mexico. Smile

@Region Philbis,
That sure is a good looking streetlight there. A pity you have to wait around before getting one every year. Laughing

i've always preferred the LED's (white) to the HPS's (orange).
these were installed a few years back, and are tilted down so they don't shine into the rooms on the second floor...

thankee -- it was a little after six in the morning.
the phone on this camera somehow compensates for lack of light, and made it look a lot brighter than it was...

@Region Philbis,
My husband, mr. G'bag commented that the photo looks fantastic, he thinks you should have it displayed or submitted somewhere (we are clueless about how one would go about that, but it really is a terrific picture)

And it's colder than a well-digger's ass . . . heading for the coldest overnight this winter,and it's March, for Dog's sake.

@Setanta,
Even here, we are about to experience the coldest day of the season.

@edgarblythe,
We've never had such a warm pre-spring (aka "winter") before. (2.8°C above average for all Germany.)

In our state, North Rhine-Westphalia, it was warm with a temperature of 4.0°C (average 1.7°C) and almost 265 l/m² (average 223 l/m²) with high precipitation. The sunshine duration was about 195 hours (average 151 hours).

@glitterbag,

appreciate it.

pics like this look good on the phone, but when you see it on a monitor, the eye goes
straight to the imperfections -- most notably that it's not in focus...

@Region Philbis,
What most appealed to me was the way the snow wrapped the telephone pole and yet rested gently and evenly on the wires.

By the way, we here in NYC want our missing 4 or 5 inches of snow. We were promised by the forecasters up to 10 inches "maybe more" and Central Park registered a lousy 5! We apparently shipped it up your way too soon!

@Region Philbis,
I still think it's beautiful, I love the look of the heavy, wet snow clinging to the wires and the fence....but in all fairness it also makes me nervous because these heavy snowfalls tend to snap power lines and tree branches.....and I hate shoveling it.

In the Houston area we are getting mostly nice weather. I was still getting mosquito bit a few days ago.

with one week of winter remaining, i am happy to report that this has been a nearly snow-less one.

we had one big storm in december -- 8" total that month.

we had a wee one in january -- 3"

that's it.

eleven inches of white shite...

Shocked . Very Happy . Laughing
